Hi, Obitchecker,

I've read your posts and I do admit that I go 'overboard' as far as Republicans are concerned. But I will tell you this Truth--I really have Nothing good to say about them, because they did absolutely Nothing for me or my family and friends during the past 8 years.

Sure, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac went out of control, but which political party pushed for Deregulation of big business? Which party decided that the US government should let business 'police' themselves? One thing leads to another, and we've all just witnessed the biggest "GREEDFEST" in US history. Which political party allowed Bush to spend over $6 TRILLION during the past 8 years: for an Illegal and Immoral Invasion of Iraq, for tax cuts for the rich, for loss of Social Programs from the Federal Government? Which political party allowed Bush the over-reaching of presidential 'executive privlidge' and policies of Torture, temporary loss of Habeus Corpus, warrantless spying on US, etc...? These past 8 years were years of Greed--and years of the loss of our Way of Life and of the Middle Class--loss of our US troops in a war that should NEVER have been started. I always thought that Republicans were the party of 'fiscal responsibility' and 'moral values'. Boy was I wrong!

Why should I even try to discuss Bush or his administration logically or defend anything good he may have done? Sure, he did good for some countries in Africa with their AIDS problems. But, why didn't he advocate Contraceptives or research in finding a Cure for AIDS, using stem cell research instead of being so phony-baloney religious about it?

As far as I'm concerned, the past 8 years were just a waste of time, a tragic waste of human lives in Iraq, a waste of purchasing power, a waste of our US government. The Republican party is a party of Hypocrisy--waste Trillions of dollars with Bush, but blame President Obama for the National Debt, because he wants to spend a Trillion dollars to stimulate our US Economy, create Jobs, fix our crumbling roads and bridges, find sources of Green Energy (Wind power, Solar power, Nuclear power, etc... instead of the damn fossil fuel OIL), Finally fix our Healthcare problems and try to make sure our children have a proper and useful education. What are the Republican alternatives? We'll find out this Wednesday, but I bet it's more of the same--tax cuts for the rich, cuts for Social spending. The same old Nothing.

The only thing the Republican party knows how to do is to condemn President Obama's Stimulus package, even before it gets started, use their tired, old 'talking points' against the Democrats and pretend like everything Bush did during the past 8 years NEVER happened.

The GOP= the Grand Old Phonies.

Mercedes
