it is my fault what happened. barbara emailed me a password to this board about two years ago. i only can post here. she invited me to post on the other board and was willing to give me a password there but i felt intimidated there.
i told nathan about this board and gave him the password. he is someone i met on a different voy board. i asked him not to tell anyone where he got the password from. i should have asked him to email barbara but i did not.
he posted a message or two as nathan and then did something he did on the other voy board. he assumed many different identities and posted using them here.
i had no idea it was him doing this until he emailed me and admitted it. he said the board is dull so i want to spice it up.
at first he told me that he was pretending to support obama and hillary. he posted as negative attack ads, then as i don't like hillary, then as hillary supporter as well as many messages in which he used comments and no name.
also ..... and i found this out two days ago ..... he was responsible for all of the garden buddy messages and he also posted as duke and as dukie.
they were all from nathan.
all of the borracho bean messages, making fun of mercedes, were from nathan. and all the comments about big brown, the horse, were from nathan.
i swear to god that he and i are not the same person. i take religion very seriously so i hope you believe me.
nathan was the troll, as people like to call him. it was not wayne or the beck person (jeff?) or anyone else. all the posts were from nathan. i know because he told me, right before he left on his vacation to las vegas.
he told me, before he went on vacation, that he has also posted as tommymittenz (but not recently) and as tommy's mommy. he even confessed that he once posted as peggy, but he said that was several months ago.
i knew this was going on and i told him to stop because i felt it was wrong. i do not want to get him in trouble.
nathan told me (and i believe him) that he never impersonated teller or james, but he said that he did on a few occasions impersonate david s. he said that's easy to do because david s capitalizes the first letter of every word in his subject.
i have never posted as anyone other than myself. on one or two occasions i have used a comment rather than a name, but almost always i have posted using doris (or doris laurie) and i have always used lower-case, not for any reason except that i am lazy.
nathan is away for i believe a month and i do not intend to write him. he will probably not even see this message because the board may shut down first.
but i promise that i will let him know that i feel responsible because i gave him the password without permission and he then abused it and i let him continue doing it even though i knew it was wrong.
my loyalties are torn because i don't like to squeal on somebody because i respect privacy and he trusted me not to say anything. i don't see what he did as being a horrible thing but i do think it was very wrong. and i was wrong for giving him access to this board.
i hope mercedes reads this. she is the one person whose messages i truly looked forward to every week. she seems like a real sweetheart. thank god nathan told me he never impersonated her. had he told me that i would have threatened to reveal to everyone what he was doing.
forgive my language here, peggy, but i am p*ssed at what he did.
however, as i see it, it was not he who hurt this board but it was i, because i in good faith gave him the password.
with this message i have worn out my welcome i am sure.
i hope, peggy, that you will forgive me (and others will as well) and that you will continue the board.
i will not post here anymore and i will ask nathan not to do so either.
i think if you change the password and only send it to responsible people (teller and others) then that would solve things. i did read the other post or posts suggesting that but they were not from me. i agree it would work.
if you do that, i will not request access to this board.
if nathan chooses to request it, then it would be up to you to allow him or not allow him, but if i were you i would think very carefully about it.
it's really too bad in a way. now that nathan is the main troll (i assume the only one and by the way i heard that term for the first time here) we might be losing what could have been a spirited defense of a man i don't like very much, namely john mccain. nathan told me he had plenty of ammunition and plenty of posts planned here to talk about john mccain.
unfortunately i don't think he could stick to one name. i think it might be a phobia of some sort. too bad really.
teller, please believe me when i tell you that i am only speaking for myself. i wouldn't say i swear to god if i was not telling the truth. and, even if you don't believe me, please let all bygones be bygones. i don't want to leave here as an enemy to anyone.
