In reply to: Teller 's message, "If the Dems alotted delegates like the Repubs do Hillary would ALREADY be the nominee" on Wed, May 14, 2008 3:39:58

Having the nomination is going to be as worthwhile as being the chief pitchman for the Edsel.

It's nice. He will be the first black person to be nominated at the head of a ticket.

He is also going to lose big.

Hillary is the only hope for the Democrats to win the White House.

You people who support Obama don't see it. It is so damned obvious.

You are seeing everything in rose-colored glasses.

If you will be happy having him as the nominee, then fine, IF that happens.

That's as far as it will go.

Hillary backers will stay home or vote for McCain.

I will NOT vote for Obama. I don't now if I will vote for McCain.

I cannot support Obama.

I think he knew exactly what was happening with Reverend Wright and said nothing until he had too.

He also refuses to distance himself from Lous Farrakhan, one of the most vicious individuals in terms of his hatred for the Jewish people.

You people hate Hillary with a vengeance and I bet some of you don't even know why you hate her.

She is the ONLY candidate with a prayer of beating McCain.

But she has only a small chance of getting the nomination.

Yes, my other post was somewhat optimistic, but I still do hope that the Superdelegates will come to their senses and realize how crippled the Democrats are going to be once Obama gets the nomination.

It will be a disaster, on the order or Mondale, McGovern and Dukakis.

And who knows how many other skeletons will be revealed about Obama?

Okay, all of you Obama supporters here, such as IDLH.

Revel in your probably victory.

Have a few rounds.

It's going to be a very short-term celebration.

Obama will make history all right but he is NOT going to make the kind of history you want.

Enjoy his likely victory in Oregon. (I still have hopes that Hillary will surprise.)

But if you want to pretend that the party is going to all of a sudden unite behind this man, YOU are the ones in la-la land.

I don't always agree with Teller but I always respect what he has to say.

In this case I think he is RIGHT ON.

He is a man of wisdom who knows that under a different set of rules, Hillary would have been the presumptive nominee.

He is a man of wisdom who knows that Obama is going to have a very rough road in the next few months.

I suggest that he begin work on his concession speech to McCain.

He can state that he ran a "historic" campaign.

That's wonderful.

But we will have a McCain presidency.

I think that Hillary has been treated extremely unfairly by people and it's a shame that the candidate who is by far the most qualified of the three candidates is quite possibly (for the most unfair reasons) going to be an also-ran.

And it's an even bigger shame that we are, for all intents and purposes, going to have four more years of Bush/Cheney in the White House.
