When people post anonymously, they can afford to be abusive, lie or make a complete fool of themselves (a common occurrence) knowing that there will be no comeback. They can post another day and not have to worry about what they have posted before. Anonymous posts are forum graffiti as far as I am concerned. What is the point of having a discussion with someone who you will never know if they are listening? The only danger of using your name that you have to be worried about is the one you have correctly pointed out. This can be simply resolved by reporting the post.
