At best, I'm in the Upper Lower Class, and if I received any kind of tax break or credit, someone forgot to tell me or to give it to me. Nope, I'm at the LOW end of the totem pole when it comes to getting any kind of tax breaks from Bush. I wonder how much I'll get back when Bush's rebate checks start coming through in May. Whatever I get, it won't be enough for me to even THINK of thanking Bush--after all, he's the one who's got us into this fine mess in the first place.
I wonder why more Repubs don't know what the PNAC agenda is. I've been doing an experiment, asking Repubs I know if they agree with the PNAC agenda. Nine out of ten don't even know what that is, and when I tell them, they either think it's great (2 out of 10) that the US of A will take over the planet (in a Neo-Con sort of way) or they (8 out of 10) don't believe me, because their Bible says that the ruler of the One World Order will be Evil and will be the Beast, and will have the Anti-Christ as his silent partner. They can't believe Bush or any of his administration could be that Evil. I beg to differ with them.
By the by, I read in today's newspaper that Exxon (who's still fighting in court against paying the fine they received from the Exxon Valdez) is ready to move into southern Iraq, into Basra, so they can start drilling for the OIL. They've been waiting too long, I guess, for the "surge" to work, so now they've taken it upon themselves to notify the Iraqi government that they are coming with their OIL pipes, ready to get the black gold.
In the meantime Iraqis are now using old herbal cures for illnesses because they can't afford medicine. And they are lucky if they get a few hours of electricity per day. Doing a Heck of a Job there, Bushie! Boy, you're really giving it to Iraq.
I'll be leaving soon, so I will wish everyone a Safe and Happy week. By the by, I only got to see Barack Obama leaving the rally in San Antonio. I was in a crowd across the street, and he waved at us before he left. Yesterday I voted for him during the early Texas primary voting. So did my husband, and so did Chato. I think it's only a matter of time before Hillary decides to quit. And as for Ralph Nader, he's a little too late to do any serious campaigning for anything more than being our Consumer Advocate.
Love,
Mercedes
