I found a frozen box of a dozen pineapples next to a dumpster last winter. I took them home, thawed them out, removed & cleaned the tops. All but one lost the centers from being frozen, but the outer leaves were still green & solid. I put 6 directly in pots like I did years ago. All 6 rotted. The other 6 were placed in an inch of water. Three rotted & three rooted. The one with the good center continued growing. The other 2 sent out a sucker from the bottom side. So now I have 3 free potted pineapple plants.
