Mare Barn

.. the sweet smell of hay, leather and horses greats you as you enter the lofty barn - crisp and fresh . the format of this barn strikes you as slightly different than any other conventional barn . instead of in rows this barn is set up in two octagons, one at either end with the tack-room and vet office at one end past the stalls . it is here you enter, a wide aisle from top to bottom with the vets door ajar on your right and the tackroom on your left . as you walk down the dark chocolate stalls meet you with mares and foals peeking over the doors to watch from deep beds . silver name plates glitter in the soft light of the mare barn, equipped for the foaling of all sorts of mares . from the first octagon of stalls you pass into the next, equally the same before you may head out to the mare and foal paddocks near by . to access the arenas it was but a short walk past the paddocks to the beautiful indoor riding rings . Chandi walks from the vet office, holding some blankets and other things and proceeds to a stall in the second octagon where you stood, smiling warmly at the sight of you . 'Hey there! Welcome to the mare barns!' . her voice was soft in lieu of the many mares boarded here she tried to keep it a peaceful place where they would not be disturbed . 'If you're looking for somewhere to board your mare you've found the place.' . she spoke as she walked over to a stall and placed the clean blankets on a temporary shelf rigged up outside - obviously a mare who was ready to foal soon . 'Just pick a free stall and drop by my house later with her stats and what stall you're in and I'll get a stall plate made up for you. The stallion barn are just across the lot if you want to take a look and set up a breeding.' . with that she left on other buisness to let you get settled ..

Deception looks round, looking to colt as he looks up before walking back to her hind quarters and beginning to nurse.

Cloud dozes lightly, then wakes up from Coacoa's movement, her foal, Prince suddenly stirrs too. Cloud nuzzles him, telling him to sleep, and he does, she also peeks over to Coacoa's stall, asking her to go to sleep as well. But Coacoa was ignoring her, she was still pacing, it was the dead of night. No one around, and Coacoa was giving birth...

[:ash glanced in an open stall, inside was clean bedding, hay, water, and feed. turning her head she whistled to the mare down the aisle. chestnut nymph pranced into the stall and the silken tail swept across taut hind 'quarters. supple neck elongated and the carven head bobbed gently, her throughbred bloodlines showing proudly. she whickered her thanks and ambled out of the stall. a smile rose rapidly acorss the tanned contenance. come on girl, we'll do a bit on the track. she turned and jogged down the barn aisle and slipped into the tack room. grabbing wonder's tack, she ran back to the throughbred. slipping on the light-weight racing saddle with attatched blanket, bridle and bit, blinders to keep her from distractions, legs wraps, and few other things. then she jogged out towards the race track. wonder loped after ashleigh, carven head high atop the slightly curved neck. she was ready to go!

So that the pregant mare would have room and could stay in the stall during birth. She sets the stall up with water and feed. She stays with her a little while to make sure she fits in ok.

she leads in Tabr to settle down for the night after their quick joy ride through the feilds. she notes the her mare was now back in shape after her most recent foaling and nods polietly to herself yes, Tabr should be fit for breeding season. who knows she might throw her beautiful pattern on her next foal as well. two foals turned out to be paints, the latest one a medicine hat stallion at that she gently pats Tabr a fond goodbye for the night and takes her leave to care for her other horses
