[:ashleigh turned the big stallyon beneath her into a open ring. stroking his neck, she whispered softly to him. she rode completly bareback and with no other tack, cobalt listened to her well. turning him toward the first jump - a oxer. heeling cobalt's side gently she moved him into a canter toward the jump, for they had alright warmed up. sable bronc moved into an easy, rolling canter. silken tail 'whipping' behind him and slender legs eating up the distance. the two, amber eyes focased steadily on the oxer and he awaited for her question. ash got into postition on his back and counted paces, 1-2-3. then she gave him the signal. cobalt shifted his hooves and with a powerful thrust of his hind 'quarters. the slender fore-legs folded beneath his chest and the supple neck elongated, carven head bobbed gently. over they flew. with the grace of a cat he landed on the otherside and threw up a cloud of dust. well-formed legs struck out and he loped toward the next jump. she carefully watched the next jump - a tricky one. ashleigh began to count strides, waiting. . .
