Subject: Name of a poem

I'm looking for the name of a poem I read many years ago. I think I read it in a book called "Tony Brown's Journal" I thought I recalled the name of the poem as "Little Things", however I can't find any reference to it by that title. The lyrics are: "He stopped to pat a small dog's head, a little thing to do....And yet the dog, remembering, was glad the whole day through. He gave a rose into the hand of one who loved it much...twas just a rose, but oh! the joy that lay in it's soft touch. He spoke a word so tenderly, a word's a wee, small thing....and yet it stirred a weary heart to laugh again and sing." This poem has stuck with me all these years and means a lot to me. Any help would mean the world to me. Thank you.
