Subject: Calling all actors...

*Nibbles on sandwich through his talking. Lunch hour, you see* Calling all actors, I present to you another excursion into the mind of moose! A new improv show, in fact. "This Can't Be Comedy" is the name I've come up with so far that stands out as something that might work. If the show doesn't work out, the person muttering the title will be correct and therefore have a major self-esteem boost and become a pompous git. If the show actually works, they are in for a big surprise. So it works either way.

And what exactly is this show? The premise is something similar to the already-in-progress duet show "Ultra-Frig Night". There aren't any improv games, they're all improv scenes. A group of improvisers will be given a scene by the host and they will act out that scene and try to make it as funny as possible. Let's say the people are lost in a parking garage for the sake of example. Let's also say that, erm, three people are brought up to act this scene. It will go on until the host thinks it is time to end it.
Occasionally, maybe twice or thrice during the scene, the host will cut into the scene, stop it, and ask the audience, "What do you think should happen now?" (Similar to "What could possibly go wrong now?") They will then take one of the audience suggestions, give it to the actors, and they will have to incorporate that into the scene. Depending on length, there can be anywhere from two to four of these little scenes to an episode. If a scene comes across as really good, the host will milk it for all it's worth. If it really sucks, well, I'm sure they'll end it quickly and put everyone out of their misery.

So, basically, a combination of long-form (only it's a shortened long-form. *head spins*), WCPGWN?, and the buzzer from WLiiA?. Believe me, the explanation is quite complicated, but the actual concept is quite simple. You all remember how confusing Extemp seemed. Now it's a piece of cake. Well, it's nothing now. It's on hiatus. I'll brush that aside.

Location planned for this new excursion? Why, #wliia_games, of course! Day? Well, I've decided upon Saturday nights. It pretty much has to be a weekend night, and I don't like the idea of doing it Friday or Sunday. So, Saturday has been decided upon by moi.

Casting? That's the joy of it all, there is no casting, unlike Extemp. It'll be another free-for-all, first come first served type thing. Only there doesn't need to be a particular amount of people. It can have anywhere from two to eight people. Though the more people, the easier it is to pull off. With two people, you get one scene that drags on forever. Somewhat like "Ultra-Frig Night". With eight people you could have several combinations. All the kinks will be worked out. The Saturday we start this is still to be determined, as I need people to tell me they want to take part in this before I do anything.

So, if this idea grabs you, chokes you, strangles you and you would like to participate, please contact me. Most of you know my IM. Otherwise, you can find me in chat or email me at the address that my name should link to on this post. Thank you!

Moosey
