I have never accepted that the "Musdang" was a major cause of the Corvair going south. The Camaro took car of the Mustang quite nicely thank you, and Chevrolet clearly needed a compact (see Chevette and Vega). The major reasons GM killed the Corvair was no heart for a fight to defend and excellent car and the attack by Nader whom time has shown is crazier than a s**thouse rat and would disembowl his own mother (if he has one) for a little TV face time.
