Hans3 is right. As I recall, the starting lineup in 70-71 was Kissane, Schnurr, Adams, Grayson and Grentz, with Doyle, Stacom, Phelan and Venne off the bench. The other guys on the team were Peter Knapp and Don Sasso (a former starter who blew a knee out and didn't play very much afterward, more due to the injury than ability).

Stacom and Grentz basically beat out Venne that year; his playing time was way down from 69-70. Stacom most certainly would have started had he not left.

Last I heard, Venne was struggling with health problems. I hope he's had better luck the last 5 years or so.

Buddy, who could shoot the eyes out of the basket over a zone, is still struggling with his health problems. My classmate, and Buddy's former teammate, Pete Knapp still regularly communicates with him. Buddy's life is not easy these days and we should all keep him in our prayers.
