1270 is NOT... -- HC1843, 20:48:50 07/07/04 Wed
what the HC admissions office has told its Alumni Admissions Program that the average is for the past two years (1308 and 1300 respectively) and since the acknowledged score from 3 years ago was a 1258, something is just not right in the U.S. News and PR reported number. I don't know what is wrong but the number does not foot with what we have been told.
Cheers.

HC1843, I know you've emailed HC on the SAT issue -- did you ever get a response as to why the alum letter number does not track with the other data ???? I emailed admissions on the incoming class and was told the 25-75 combined number was 1270-1330 which tracks with your 1300 number -- pershaps in the year 2050 HC will have a real admissions web page with lots of data on the incoming class just like the current pages of West Point, Navy, and every other PL school

Re: 1270 is NOT... -- HC1843, 10:03:09 07/08/04 Thu
no response was ever given, which does not surprise me. rather hard to defend the untenable.
this being said, good to see the 25th percentile number going up 50 points and the 75th percentile by ten.
Now all we need is that admissions website upgrade that we were told about 2+ years ago.
Were you given any other info. Is the rumored sub 40% acceptance rate verifiable. I am yet to receive my AAP letter, but they've probably figured it out and removed me from it. Email me at my hotmail account, which I think you know the address of.
Cheers.

Re: ECAC? -- HC '85, 21:03:16 07/07/04 Wed
From the Common Data Set Report on the Planning & Budget page from the HC Website
For the Class entering in the Fall of 2003
the 25th percentile and 75th percentile respectively were:
SAT I Verbal ..... 580 .... 680
SAT I Math ....... 630 .... 670
Combined Average has to be between the 1210 and 1350.

Actually, just looked at my previous post and may have solved the mystery.
The common data set report is what USNews and other rating services use for their rankings.
Go halfway between 1210 and 1350 (the 50th percentile or average) and you get .....
1280!
