Subject: Jen Toland Column Friday

Overshadowed by the Allen article in the T&G on Friday, there was also an interesting column written by Jen Toland in the sports section. Couldn't find text online for some strange reason, but info included;
* Women's basketball team will travel to play Duke on January 4 as part of a road trip that includes a stop at DePaul on January 2. Duke will play at the Hart Center during the 2005-06 season!
* Seniors Maggie Fontana and Lisa Andrews both underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in June, Gibbons is quoted as saying they were both successful.
* Freshman Meg Dahlman has transferred to Marist
* DiGiacinto replacement will be named in early August
* Former men's basketball manager Patrick Maloney has left the Sports Info. office after 2 years to become an admissions counselor at HC.
* Vince Sinagra who spent 5 years on Coach Allen's football staff is the new linebackers coach at Stony Brook.
* Dwayne Henclewood (HC 2004) won Jamaican National title in the discus in his native country.

That's great news about the women's schedule. As for Maggie having arthro surgery, she had this done last year which was what caused her delay in getting up to her true form for a lot of the season. Is this the other knee? Or the same one and a repeat procedure?
