Subject: New Rumor

OK - the rumors are swirling - the lastest I have heard is that it is not a done deal that HC is in the ECAC if we upgrade our women's hockey program to D-1 alone. The ECAC wants to see that HC will provide the resources behind such a move, i.e put the same "grant-in-aid" in place for the women's program as is in place (or has been proposed) for the men's program. In my opinion the "grant-in aid" is nothing more than a scholarship with a few strings attached. So this is really a scholarship issue. It could cost HC at least another $500,000 to provide the "grant-in-aid" assurances for the women's program that the ECAC wants. Promising to upgrade the women's program to D-1 with no or limited resources is not enough. The saga continues. Does anyone know anything else?

I don't mean to offend the football fans, but we've got a much less expensive proposition here that will result in a better ROI, better exposure, and the chance to win more consistently.

Cheers.

Poor Tom Gilmore won't like that.
