TAKIN ON THE CASH has completed his first season at stud in the Golden State. Vessels Stallion Farm is very proud to have him on our stallion roster. We are equally pleased with how well he has been received by breeders. He has been bred to 120 mares this season. Takin On The Cash is a first class stallion, which is no surprise since he is by sire of sires DASH FOR CASH. Dash for Cash was one of the greatest racehorses to ever look through a bridle. He still holds the 440 yard record at Los Alamitos in a time of 21.17. Dash For Cash was a two time World Champion; winner of 21 races and $507,688. His records stand in the AQHA Hall of Fame.
Takin On The Cash represents an original strain of the Dash For Cash bloodlines being out of the EASY JET mare, Take You On. Takin On the Cash's broodmare sire Easy Jet also is honored in the Hall of Fame. In 1969, he was the all-time leader for money earned. He was awarded World Champion at two and went on to win 27 races for earnings of $445,723.
Royally bred Takin On The Cash proved himself as a champion also. He reeled off 16 wins, 7 seconds and 3 thirds from 26 starts, for a bankroll of $661,697. In addition, he set a new track record at Los Alamitos for 400 yards and was voted AQHA's Champion Colt at two and again as a three year old. Equally impressive to his two championship seasons is his beautiful conformation and kind disposition.
Class does tell. Takin On the Cash is the only stallion beside First Down Dash to win six Grade One races and to sire the winners of more than $6 million. In September of 1999, with five crops to race, he is represented by 235 winners, 26 stakes winners and 28 stakes placers. His two-year old A DELIGHTFUL DASHER is the 1999 winner of the All American and Rainbow Futurities at Ruidoso Downs. As well, his TAKIN ON SPOON MAN took the All American Futurity Consolation. A DELIGHTFUL DASHER has earned $1,265,790 and is the favorite to receive championship honors at year's end. Takin On the Cash has also sired two time G1 Los Alamitos Championship winner HEZA RAMBLIN MAN SI-111 ($730,000), RAKIN IN THE CASH SI-102 ($242,707) and other 1999 stakes horses, TAKING ON THE BULLY, TAKIN ON THE GOLD, MARKET DEMAND, TAKIN SOME GOLD, LEGIT, etc.
Since moving to California, Takin On The Cash's foals will now be eligible for the California Sires Cup and the Breeders' Classic as well as many Grade One races, restricted to California-breds.
