  • He dropped down into one of the chairs facing the desk and leaned back, fingers linking over his stomach as he worked on picking out his words carefully. "She's been okay, you know. Don't start feeling horrible because you think that it's been all tears and heartache since you left." It wasn't like him to avoid open wounds - he much preferred to face them head on, and so that's exactly what he did.
