The hospital is not huge, but is well-developed in an old historic building in the middle of town. The doctors here are trained in an array of areas, so health concerns of any sort can be addressed here. Just come on in if something is, or may be, wrong!

  She awoke early as the light was switched on- around 5am- as the doctor was doing her morning rounds. She blinked sleepily as the doctor checked her charts and her BP and the other monitors. She groaned a little and blinked her eyes open glancing around for charlie absently "Did my husband go home?" she asked the doctor quietly. They had made her stay in for the night for observation and to keep a progress report of the fragile baby's state, and hers. They had told her last night that they couldn;t garentee the baby still being with her by morning- but if she made it through and her BP remained low and there were no complications there would be a chance both mother and child would survive healthily.

  • He had actually gone for coffee - sitting up in a chair all night had not been comfortable by any means but there was no way he would leave her for more than a few minutes for a quick break to the bathroom or for more bitter coffee from the vending machine down the hall. He made his way back in as he heard her asking, the coffee as well as a sugary, processed snack in hand and moved to the edge of the bed so she could see him without craning her neck too much. "No, I'm still here baby.." He settled in his chair, out of the doctor's way and waited - he had spent much of the night in this pose, just watching her sleep, breathe, lulled by the sound of the heart rate monitor. "Yes... its been inconsistant through the night, but its still there... we may need to keep you in for another night... and you'll have to take it very easy from now on... i'm booking you in for a scan for ten, so we'll be able to have another look and see that theres no sign of distress, and we'll monitor the heart beat for another twenty four hours Mrs Belluci"// Aly released a breath and closed her eyes softly, resting her head back intot he pillows with relief- smiling a little at the doctor "Thank you..."   • Charlie waited with the same bated breath he saw Aly holding while they waited for the doctor's response and breathed out a slow, long, relieved breath before rising to shake the doctor's hand and thank him as he left the room. Once he was gone, he approached the bed and smiled down at her, reaching to squeeze her hand. He was cautiously optomistic - he knew she was still in some pain, but the reality of the baby surviving made his heart flutter. "That's good.. I knew you were strong."   • "Are you sure?" Afterall, this entire thing had started because he hadn't been there. He fully intended to keep her in his line of sight from now until the baby was born - he usually hated those hovering, overprotective type, but they really couldn't take any risks. He was pretty reluctant to leave at all, and at the risk of sounding whiney and controlling, he probably would go call Mali to do it anyways, regardless of what she said.   He had been staring at a file bleary eyed all afternoon, gleaning it for facts and details to hand on to the lawyer working on the case, tired from a night staying up chatting with Aly like they often did when he had finally gotten the call. Immense guilt had consumed him when he discovered that they'd been trying to get ahold of him sometime but with a deadline looming on the case they were working on, he had shut out all outside communications to work it to the best of his advantage, never expecting to be needed for something like this, and his heart was pounding a million miles an hour as he finally got to the hospital, bursting through the doors. He'd done double the speed limit the whole way there, and was in a frenzy by the time he got there, rushing the nurse's station -- "I need to see Alysia Bellucci.. I need to see my wife." A nurse pointed him down a hallway and he took off at a run, nearly upsetting a patient with an IV stand walking the halls.

  • They had her hooked up to all kinds of monitors and machines, her young form looking tiny and pale in the hospital bed, her blonde curls spilling over the pillows haphazardly. Tear tracks were still obvious down her pale cheeks, her dark eyes like bottemless black pools of ink as she watched the beeping monitor. She'd been helping them set up the stage for the final night of the performance, rushing aorund doing this and that like she had been all week, and she had started feeling awful, sick and dizzy and a sharp ache has started in her stomach, the next thing she knew she was in an ambulance on her way to the hospital. She'd asked for him as soon as she awoke on her way in, and again every five minutes since then, all they would tell her was they were trying to reach him.   He had been pretty paniced when, before his parents could even stop by, the baby's heart monitor had started beating wildly and then slowed dramatically. He had nearly freaked out but tried, to little avail, to be calm for Karlie. He had been whisked out of the room in no time, told to wait in the waiting room and now was pacing the floor, his hand over his face. She had seemed fine a moment ago, totally fine and then suddenly the baby was freaking out and she was still fine but the baby's heart monitor was going crazy and...he was just so confused. His head ache was starting to come back, he was starting to get overwhelmed, his sentenaces weren't coming out right and it was frustating him. All he could hope was that his parents would be there soon and sit with him to calm him down before his head just exploded. Was it possible for heads to just explode? Maybe he would be a first, they could write about him in medical journals and he could be famous. Wait, he was already famous. Damn, his thoughts were just moving to fast for him to control and it was making physically dizzy and sick to his stomach...

  • (They had been on their way down to visit with him anyway, but it was a shock when they had passed a bunch of panicked looking doctors wheeling Karlie down the hall on a gurney, all of them talking in huge words that he couldn't quite understand.) Hes going to be in a fit. (He said under his breath as he watched them enter the OR at the end of the hallway. He pursed his lips as he looked over at Kate, concern in his expression.) He was having a fit earlier and his head was bothering him.. we have to find a way to calm him down and you're the best at that. (He admitted, though that bothered him now that he knew what it was like to be the one who was there for his kids.   (Had she not spent the entire night awake and simply looking at the peacefully sleeping form of her lover, she would never have made it through the almost eight hour long surgery that day. As it was, she was only fitfully sleeping in the incomfortable chair near the coffee maker in the private waiting room the hospital had provided for her and Nick's parents. She had listened for a while as Kate and Quin quietly discussed what was going on but she had been so distraught and privately exhausted from worrying and staying awake and not caring for her pregnant body that she simply passed out in the chair. Now, almost nine hours later, she stirred and yawned, stretching and wincing at the pain in her back. She looked around the room and frowned, the MacAlister's were gone and she was completly alone. Reaching down, she ran her hand comfortingly over her slightly swollen belly and then noticed the note on the side table, which she reached for with a pensive expression. Flipping it open, she smiled a little at the crooked scrawl of Joaquin MacAlister, telling her that he and Kate had gone home shortly after they had received word that the surgery would take longer than expected. Getting up from her seat, she paced the room for a few moments, eyeing the clock and the window alternately.. waiting for word.)

  • The couple had left hours earlier after being assured that they would be contacted as soon as Nick was out of surgery. It was a long, drawn out, complicated and delicate surgery that had seven of the top neurosurgeons in the room for a total of twelve hours. Nick had lost all brain activity twice but was now resting and in a recovery room. The surgery as far as they could tell had been an success and thats what they told Karlie when they came in to update her though they also told her that they would have to wait and see how it went when Nick woke up to see if it was a complete success. The big thing was that there was brain activity being registered which meant that if nothing else...he would come out of the surgery no worse then how he had gone into it. After explaining it all to her, they quietly informed her that she would be allowed to see Nick as soon as he was settled into the ICU and sure enough, twenty minutes later, a nurse was leading the way to the private room Nick was in.   Eleven days had gone by with no change in the young mans status. It seemed that his internal injuries were healing as they should be but there was something wrong with his brain, something that was keeping him from opening his eyes and talking to them. They had run every type of test they could think of, brought in specialists from all over the country after being assured by Quin that money was no object. All of them had left puzzled though, not understanding what was keeping the man from waking up, there didn't seem to be any physical abnormalities with his brain, no swelling, no ruptures, no sign of an aneurysm or a stroke, there was just nothing for them to go on. It was a waiting game that was slowly driving everyone crazy and the wear of it was evident on each and every one of their faces and deep into their eyes, it was affecting everyone's very souls. Kate had gathered herself together - due to her husbands being there for her, being her rock and her strength - and was making sure Karlie would eat and get some sleep now and again and while Karlie rarely ever left the room, Quin, Kate and Shay would take turns sitting with her and with Nick. They talked to him, pleaded with him, cried and begged him to wake up to no avail until the evening of the thirteenth day.
  
  It had been a normal day as far as normal went that week, Kate had come in the morning to sit with Karlie and then Quin had come after a few hours of work - life couldn't just stop as much as they wanted it too - and they had just sat in Nicks room, comforting one another and talking to Nick when suddenly, as if he had just been sleeping, his eyes opened and he looked around the room. His eyes focused on his father first of all and he offered a slight half smile though his head felt so groggy. When he continued around the room, his eyes finally laid on Karlie, seeing how drawn and tired she looked, how her eyes were so red and bloodshot and he realized he had done that to her. She must have found out about the girl he had slept with, she looked like she had been crying for days but for some reason he couldn't quite remember coming home that afternoon and telling her. His brow furrowed as he suddenly looked around, realizing that it was weird to have his parents in his room with his girlfriend but this...this wasn't his room. The monitor that was gauging his heart started beeping wildly as he started to panic in his confusion, not understanding what was going on or why he was here. His breath turned a little shallow and ragged as he shifted, wanting to move, wanting to get out of the bed. His arm that had the IV in it jerked, causing his eyes to widen and look down at the needle in his arm. He hated needles, always had, one of the real reasons he had never gotten a tattoo.
  
  "Up!" He suddenly spoke, his eyes pleading with the family around him before he looked back down to the IV. "Up!!" He insisted again, bringing his gaze to theirs and then frowning, panicking more when they didn't respond to his pleads to get the IV out of him. "Over, over, up!" He insisted, pleading with them to please, please get it off. Why weren't they understanding?! His other hand came up to run over his face making him realize he could use that hand and he moved to just pull it out himself, leaving a stain of blood there. He had to get out of there, he was fine, there was nothing wrong with him. He had been a bit stressed over his infidelity and he had been pretty drunk but that was no reason to look at him like he was crazy and put him in the hospital. He had to make Karlie understand it had just been a mistake, a drunken mistake, if he didn't make her understand then his guilt would consume him from the inside out, god, why was it getting harder to breathe and why the Fuck were they still looking at him like that?!

  • He stilled when his dad touched his arms, his eyes up on him pleading, begging him to understand. "Candy?" He questioned, biting his lip as he looked over at Karlie, his brow furrowed, confusion and pain lining his beautiful eyes. "Open, open days.." He pleaded with her, asking her not to cry and when she didn't stop and his father didn't respond he just growled out, throwing his head back onto the pillow in frustation. Did everyone lose their fucking hearing or what? Why was he the one laying in the bed when they were all the ones who apperantly had something wrong with him? His movements had caused something inside of him to strain and a sharp pain gripped him, his eyes squeezing shut as he shook his head. "Inside! Inside!" It hurts, it hurts, it hurts, he was trying to tell them but they all just stared. Was this his punishment for hurting his girl? After a second, the doctor turned to the people in the room. "I can't be sure but what I think is that there has been an injury to his cortex, in the left hemisphere of the brain. We will perform another c-scan to make sure but I have seen this kind of disorder before. I've seen it before in journals...we'll call back the neuroligist from London, he's had experience with this type of disorder before and go from there." He took a deep breath. "The words are sounding right to Nick when he speaks, he's forming the words in his mind but the communicators aren't working as they should and thus the words are coming out scrambled." His arm that had the IV in it jerked, causing his eyes to widen and look down at the needle in his arm. He hated needles, always had, one of the real reasons he had never gotten a tattoo. "Up!" He suddenly spoke, his eyes pleading with the family around him before he looked back down to the IV. "Up!!" He insisted again, bringing his gaze to theirs and then frowning, panicking more when they didn't respond to his pleads to get the IV out of him. "Over, over, up!" He insisted, pleading with them to please, please get it off. Why weren't they understanding?! His other hand came up to run over his face making him realize he could use that hand and he moved to just pull it out himself, leaving a stain of blood there. He had to get out of there, he was fine, there was nothing wrong with him. He had been a bit stressed over his infidelity and he had been pretty drunk but that was no reason to look at him like he was crazy and put him in the hospital. He had to make Karlie understand it had just been a mistake, a drunken mistake, if he didn't make her understand then his guilt would consume him from the inside out, god, why was it getting harder to breathe and why the Fuck were they still looking at him like that?!

  She had gotten there before they had and tried to find word on her baby but it took awhile, finally she found out that he was in surgery, trying to repair a punctured lung and a ruptured something or other. At the moment she was sitting on the bench, her knee's pulled up to her chest and her forehead resting on her knee's as she sobbed into her legs. She had no idea what had possessed him to drink and drive in the middle of the day, they said his blood alchol was near double the legal limit at the time of the accident. She was just waiting for her husband, needing him desperately at the moment. None of her kids had ever been seriously hurt before, this was the first time anything had happened like this and she just didn't know how to handle it.

    • She nodded through her tears, sobbing into her husbands shoulder for a good minute before she looked up, her eyes finding Karlie and shaking her head. "Get her, she doesn't need to hear what they say..god they make it so cold..get her Quin, before they say anything to her." She pleaded, her whole body shaking. They had been so descriptive when they told her about the bleeding and the ruptures and the tearing and scars and the car being torn in half...she had thrown up in the bathroom after it all and was about again just thinking about it as her husband went to guide Karlie away from the nurses and doctors, bringing her back to him. "It's...its not good, sweetie." Was all she managed to say before she broke down again, Kate never broke down, she wasn't afraid of gore and she rarely cried but right now she was sobbing and shaking, unable to breathe and about to make herself sick. It seems they've been treating him for Asperger's Syndrome.. which is sort of like autism.. but he doesnt display any of the symptoms of that disease. (He crossed his arms over his chest as he looked from the groggy man sitting next to him, trying to open his eyes but failing miserably. He patted Quin's shoulder to get him to settle down and relax before he continued.) When we did some blood work on him we found high levels of inhibitors in his blood.. this wouldn't be a huge issue unless I hadn't already seen a lot of the symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress in your husband.. how long has he been taking this medication? She absently noted how bad it tasted through her tears before she just reached up, patting around to find the faucet and turning on the water, running her hand over it and bringing her hand to her face, her hands shaking as she fought the sobs that were inside her throat, tearing it apart. This wasn't just an emotional pain, it was physical, her family was falling apart in front of her and she couldn't do a damn thing to stop it. He looked the picture of calm and cool, in faded jeans and a black wool sweater, his hair a few weeks past due for a trim and a few days worth of growth shadowing his face.   • She was all settled into the examining gown as she laid out on the bed, cocking a brow at his humming and tapping. She knew those signs, he was as nervous as she was, he was just better at hiding it. Sliding her eyes closed, she absently prayed that this whole thing would go better then she thought it would. Within moments a doctor came in, smiling at them and then proceeding with the initial examination. It took a good half hour and by the time it was all done she was exhausted from being so tense.   They had gotten to the hospital a little while earlier and she had stayed with him for some time before she was instructed to step out so they could do a physical examination. She sighed, pacing the room back and forth, biting her lip absently as she tried to control her worry. There couldn't be anything seriously wrong with him, she refused to believe that, it couldn't be true. Finally, she wore herself out and curled up into the corner of the couch in the waiting room, closing her eyes and trying to rest for just a second at least. In the room, the doctors finished their examination and then brought down another doctor to do a neurological examination. They asked him tons of questions, did a c-scan the whole nine yards. Turns out, Shay got in about a two hour nap out there in the waiting and she was out cold. The doctors, having come up with their evaluation and prognosis, looked down to Remy. "We are going to call your mother and father in now, to discuss the test results, alright Jeremiah?"

Shay was groggy, as she always was when first waking up but when she saw him she woke up a little bit more and headed quickly to the side of the bed, picking up his hand. She wanted nothing more then to cuddle up with him, to kiss him and hold him and play with his hair to relax him but she restrained herself. I know this sounds pretty bad, but really it isn't something that will affect Remy in a bad way. As he grows older he will be taught how to handle situations and will live a very normal life. Most doctors look at someone who handles this disorder like Remy has as a genius, it takes a lot of intelligence to take so much information and process it without going insane. (She thought she was helping Remy by giving hima complement, but really he was just tensing up and getting more and more upset at her words. It wasn't until she and his parents left the room for perscription and checking out procedures that he let out his breath. He had a tense and brooding look to him.) Genius.. whatever.   After a distressed call from Kelci earlier that day, the girl had been on Jewel's mind all day. A couple of hours after hanging up the phone, she had decided to head over to check on her. As soon as she had come into the apartment she frowned, the hard wood floors were slippery from everyone tracking snow in and out, she almost slipped herself when she had gone in. She had thought about how it wasn't safe for Kelci to be carrying Ana up and down those stairs even as she took a few of them up to the first landing. As soon as she turned the curve for the second one, her ears were pierced by the shrill cry of Ana's screaming bloody murder and she started taking the steps two at a time, nearly stepping on Kelci where she was laying on the second landing, her wrist twisted at a weird angle, not to mention the girl was knocked out cold. Jewel had kept her cool though, checked her pulse and then whipped out her cell phone, calling 911 and giving the information quickly before she hurried up the stairs to get Ana, comforting the little girl. She had no idea how long ago Kelci had fallen but Ana was absolutely terrified and her diaper was wet, her face red from screaming, her little voice hoarse. She murmured softly to her in Spanish as she had called Rico, filling him in and telling him to meet her at the hospital.   • (He yawned and looked at his bedside clock.. only it wasn't there. With a groan he rolled over to look on the other side and fell off the bed. Muttering to himself in spanish, he got to his feet and rubbed his sore eyes, wandering naked into the other room to get the cell phone from.. of all place.. in the fridge. He answered it, his voice scratchy and groggy.. he had slept off a killer night and it was almost three according to the clock on the stove.) Yeah? "I just figured you might want to know, in case you went to see Ana or something in the morning..." When Ana saw him she started crying and reached for him, so he took her from Rico and held her close, rocking back and forth and talking to her in spanish, taking as much solace in her as she did in him.   She didn't know what to do. No one else was here and they wouldn't let her go into the room with Karlie so all she could was curl up on one of the couches, her bloody knee's drawn to her chest, her eyes looking blankly at the floor as silent tears fell down. She couldn't believe this happened - her and Karlie were smart girls, they had their shit together they could handle themselves out on the streets. They had never been little prissy girls who needed a guy to take care of them, they had always been able to take care of themselves and now Karlie was laying bruised and battered in a hospital bed, it just didn't make sense. She didn't even notice that she was shivering and trembling so hard that her teeth were chattering, nor the fact that she was covered in both her blood and her cousins. He had gotten into his car the minute that he had hung up with Gabe. His heart was beating and he was so worried about his girl that he felt sick. He dialed his phone to his father, his hand shaking as he drove towards the hospital.

                • She bit her lip, letting out a soft breath before she patted the couch next to her for Quin, her eyes on him for a brief moment. She just was never sure with him, she never knew when he wanted to be by her and when he didn't and it hurt to know that sometimes, your husband didn't want you anywhere near him. She let out a low breath, nodding a little bit again before she headed down the hallway to catch a cab outside the hospital, it was time to get to work and try and live a normal life. He sighed softly, his eyes in pain for her. "I am sorry honey, you got hurt...Kelci found you and her and Gabe brought you here..." he murmured softly. "I am going to get a nurse in here and let them know you are awake, ok sweetheart?" "Alright baby..." She murmured, letting him go though her eyes followed him as he walked away. "You won't have a chance to miss me." He stated, his voice low with emotion. He was going to keep her in his sight until she couldn't stand the sight of him, that was the general plan. She wasn't going to get hurt again if he had anything to say about it, even if he had to completely move her into his apartment and place her under house arrest. He found his parents like that and didn't really want to disturb them so he just asked a nurse to wait until they returned from wherever they were going and then let them know that Karlie had been released and Nick was taking her home.   He had slept through his first day and a half in there, spent the next day and a half in a cloud of nausea and confusion, but had woken up that evening finally in a much clearer state of mind. The nurse had just been in to check on him, and then dinner had arrived - which he had pushed aside - and he had now swung his legs off the side of the bed and was sitting up, pulling on his jeans that had been stored with his other clothes in the cabinet near by. He was fine now, and needed to get out of here - he didn't even know if the boys from the band had been notified, though he was sure they must have along with management, and he was starting to get the shakes. He wasn't a hardcore junkie shooting up a dozen times a day or anything, but he was an addict who relied on his frequent fixes - and he wasn't feeling so good after three days in here. No one would tell him anything about when he would be able to leave, so he was taking matters in to his own hands - it wasn't like they could force him to stay. He was an adult and didn't want to be here any more - couldn't be here any more - so he was leaving.

  • She had been here almost the whole time until her doctors had come in and thrown an absolute fit because she was off her eating schedule and that was detrimental to her healing process plus she had missed a support group meeting. She had been almost dragged out of there, literally, and after eating enough to gain their leave, she had rushed back in here only to find him getting dressed. Her brow furrowed, her eyes flying up to his. She was relieved, of course, that he was ok but part of her attitude that had been lost when she was so sick was coming back and she was appalled at the fact that he thought he could just get up and leave. He murmured when she came in, standing slowly to button up his jeans, and then carefully pulled the IV from his arm, and the heart monitor off his finger, and extracted himself from the rest of the cords and cables and tubes that he was connected to. At her question, he just tugged off the robe and reached slowly for his tee, looking up only at the tone to her voice, one brow raising. "I'm leaving. Can you pass me that?" He pointed to a grey hoodie of his draped over a nearby chair - he wasn't feeling so hot being up and about, but he knew that the longer that he stayed in here, the worse he was going to feel.   She rushed into the emergency room, biting her lip as she tried to figure out what exactly was going on. "Excuse me.." She tried to get the attention of a nurse but the woman just walked swiftly by her. "Excuse me..." She stated again, growling as she tried to grab someone's attention. "Damn it! Someone!" She finally got the attention of a nurse walking by asking her if she knew where Gavin was. She rattled off his full name along with a description before she looked up, seeing a reporter come in. How the hell did the get here so fast? She didn't even know what was going on yet. "Get them out of here." She growled, pointing to the reporter before she was instructed to wait for a doctor.

  • Someone had spotted his familiar face as he had been wheeled in on a stretcher, and one reported quickly multiplied into two and then three - all trying to get the same sort of information that she was looking for. But there was no information to give as the emergency room doctors tried desperately to resurrect their latest patient - famous musician or a homeless addict off the streets made no difference to them at this particular moment in time. Finally though, a woman who looked very much like a doctor emerged in search of the lady that every one was saying was their patient's girlfriend or fiancée or wife - no one really seemed to know which it was though. "Bianca? Holden? Miss Bianca Holden?" The hospital was always buzzing with energy, but there seemed to be a more intense electricity this evening as word spread - every entertainment news program wanting to be the first to report the death or near-death of a celebrity. However, as a medical professional, she also understood that drug addiction was an illness - not often a choice by this point. "We're waiting for the test results, but it seems most likely that he injected tainted heroin. The evidence suggest that he's an experienced user, and so it's less likely that he would overdose. He's stable now, but unconscious. He's still in critical condition, but there's nothing else we can do for him, it's just a matter of waiting to see how his body reacts. "If you're feeling up to it, there are some questions that we would like to ask just regarding his background and past history." She looked up at the sound of some commotion but didn't move - it was just the hospital security engaged in a quiet but firm argument with the reporters loitering about regarding whether or not they should be allowed to stay.
