Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the many holy people whose lives
are recorded in the Scriptures, that I may have a pattern from which to live
my life. Thank you for Your never-ending presence to help me along my
journey. Help me to always set a good example for my fellow brothers and
sisters, that they, too, may come to know the Joy that You have brought to us
through Your dearly beloved Son, Jesus Christ. In Jesus name. Amen.

Short Bits Of Wisdom

"Time isn't what makes a friendship last...It's love and devotion that keeps
the tie between souls."

Failure doesn't mean God has abandoned you... ...it does mean God has a
better idea!

~Think about it~
"If you were arrested for kindness, would there be enough evidence to convict
you?"

The way you see things and the way others see things may not be the same.

Be tolerant of other people's views.

You are meant for excellence. Live up to life's hopes for you.

"Don't just trust something; believe in it."

"Love is like a sweet flower, true love is a sweet rose..."

"Love is like a rose: when you have it in your grasp, you have to bare the
thorns."

If you keep you heart open, it will come again..~ Kent Nerburn ~

"To live life without you is to live life without love."

"Attitude can determine success or failure, it is a matter of choice." ~Lace~

Laughter Is Good For Your Soul

Laughter is not only good for the body, it's good for the soul.
sychologically, the ability to see humor in a situation is important as
laughter, itself. A sense of humor can help you overlook the unattractive,
tolerate the unpleasant, cope with the unexpected, and smile through the
unbearable. A genuine sense of humor is the pole that adds balance to our
steps as we walk the tightrope of life. And, if we happen to fall into one
of life's inevitable cesspools, a healthy sense of humor can help us cope.

Our five senses are incomplete without the sixth... A Sense of Humor.

Having a sense of humor doesn't mean that you go around laughing at
everything. A person with a sense of humor doesn't make jokes out of life;
they only see the ones that are already there. In other words, you can see
the funny side along with the serious side.

Many of us take ourselves too seriously. We worry about always looking good,
correct, and dignified. The result is that we miss out on a lot of fun.
There are things that will happen to you that cause you to feel you have lost
control. But if you can laugh at yourself and the circumstances, you've
regained control. Circumstances will not control you if you turn
them around and make something funny out of them.

There are many, many times in your daily experience when you can turn your
situation around and laugh. Laugh at the situation. Laugh at yourself.
When you do you've in charge
instead of it being in charge of you.

Happy is the person who can laugh at themselves, they will never cease to be
amused.

I believe that if we can divide our problems into those that can be solved
quickly and those that cannot, we will have come a long way toward relaxing
when confronted with
things that we cannot change. Humor is God's weapon against worry, anxiety,
and fear.

As somebody said, your day goes the way the corners of your mouth turn. Life
is like a mirror. If we frown at it, it frowns back. If we smile, it
returns the greeting.

There are many reasons to laugh, so go ahead. Since it takes forty-three
muscles to frown but only seventeen muscles to smile, why not conserve
energy?

Laughter is the cheapest luxury we have. It clears up the blood, expands the
chest, electrifies the nerves, clears away the cobwebs from the brain, and
gives the whole
system a good cleansing. I really believe laughter is the sweetest music
that ever greeted the human ear, and I also believe God loves to hear our
laughter.

Life is full of tensions, stress, and grim realities. When we need a break
now and then, how do we spell relief?

THE FAMILY RANCH

Two sisters inherit the family ranch in Wyoming. Unfortunately, after just a
few years, they are in financial trouble. In order to keep the bank from
repossessing the ranch, they need to purchase a bull so that they can breed
their own stock.

One sister balances their checkbook, then takes their last $600 to Montana to
another ranch where a man has a prize bull for sale. Upon leaving, she tells
her sister, "When I get there, if I decide to buy the bull, I'll
contact you to drive out after me and haul it home."

She arrives at the man's ranch, inspects the bull, and decides she wants to
buy it. The man tells her that he can sell it for $599, no less. After
paying him, she drives to the nearest town to send her sister a telegram to
tell her the news.

She walks into the telegraph office, and says, "I want to send a telegram to
my sister telling her about my purchase and that I need her to hitch the
trailer to our pickup truck and drive out here so we can haul it home."

The telegraph operator explains that he'll be glad to help her, then adds,
"It's just 99 cents a word." Well, after paying for the bull, the brunette
only has $1 left. She realizes that she'll only be able to send her sister
one word. After thinking for a few minutes, she nods, and says, "I want you
to send her the word, 'comfortable.'"

The telegraph operator shakes his head. "How is she ever going to know that
you want her to hitch the trailer to your pickup truck and drive out here to
haul that bull back to your ranch if you send her the word, 'comfortable?'"

The sister explains, "My sister reads real slow."

IT IS A BLESSING TO BOTH GIVE AND RECEIVE.

You're Special

In all the world, there's nobody like you.
Since the beginning of time,
there has never been another person
like you.
Nobody has your smile.
Nobody has your eyes, your nose,
your hair, your hands, your voice.
You're special.

No one can be found who has
your handwriting.
Nobody, anywhere, has your tastes...
for films or music or art.
No one sees things just as you do.
In all of time, there's been no one
who laughs like you,
no one who cries like you.
And what makes you laugh and
cry will never produce
identical laughter and tears
from anybody else, ever.

No one reacts to any situation
just as you would react.
You're special. the only one in all of creation
who has your set of abilities.
Oh, there will always be somebody
who is better
at one of the things you are good at,
but no one in the universe can
reach the quality of your
combination of talents, ideas,
abilities, and feelings.

Like a room full of musical instruments,
some may excel alone,
but none can match the
symphony of sound when all are
played together.
You're a symphony.

Through all of eternity, no one
will ever look, talk,
walk, think, or do like you..
You're special. You're rare.
And in all rarity there is great value.
Because of your great rare value,
You need not attempt to imitate others.
You should accept -- yes, celebrate --
your differences.

You're special. And I hope you are
beginning to realize
that it's no accident that you're special,
and that you're beginning to see
that you were made for a very special purpose.
There is a job for you to do
that no one else can do as well as you.
Out of all the billions of applicants,
only one is qualified;
only one has the right combination
of what it takes.

That one is you.. YOU... because you're special.

THE TOP TEN STEPS TO A SUCCESSFUL LIFE

1. MAKE YOUR INTUITION YOUR ALLY
How does your intuition speak to you? Do you receive information in words,
feelings, a body sensation? Do you just know? Ask your intuition questions
and pay attention to the answers and act on the information you receive.

2. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT BRINGS YOU JOY
The experience of joy is one of God's ways of speaking to us through our
intuition. What makes you excited, happy, delighted? What do you look forward
to each day? Do more of it!

3. BE CLEAR ABOUT YOUR GOALS
We are often quite clear about what we don't want. Spend time thinking about
what you do want. What does your ideal life look like?

4. SPEND TIME IN PRAYER AND MEDITATION
Answers often come to life's questions through self-reflection. Prayer and
meditation are two ways we have of slowing down enough to listen to the still
quiet voice of our Higher Self.

5. CREATE POSITIVE SELF TALK
Pay attention to what you tell yourself about yourself and your life. If the
general tone is hopeful and positive you generally feel better and more
optimistic. It's easier to create a life you love when you give yourself
affirmative messages.

6. UNDERSTAND YOUR BELIEFS
William James said, "The greatest discovery of my generation is that human
beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer
aspects of their lives."

7. TAKE ACTION
People often get stuck because they can't figure out how to get from Point A
to Point Z. What is one thing you could do that would be a next step? Take a
class, talk to a friend, read a book on a topic of interest, learn a new
skill. Take action on what feels exciting to you.

8. LOOK FOR COINCIDENCES AND SYNCHRONICITY'S
It has been said that coincidences are God's way of remaining anonymous. We
often have serendipity occurring in our lives as a way to show us we are on
the right path.

9. KNOW THAT THERE WILL BE EBBS AND FLOWS
We often reach success through a series of ups and downs. When you are in a
"down" place and feeling stuck, know that it doesn't usually last long. Find
some ways to enjoy your life despite the lull and continue to focus on what
you want.

10. ENVISION!
Spend time each day imagining your ideal life. Envision the details of that
life. Imagine you are living it now. What are you wearing? What are you
feeling? Who are the people around you? Make it real.

Think Small

The world says bigger is better,
But that may not be so always.
Faith like a grain of mustard seed
Can move great mountains Jesus says.

A truckload of coal weighs a lot,
But I'll take a diamond instead.
I'll take a pound of gleaming gold-
And you can have a load of lead.

God can bless the smallest of groups
As well as large congregations.
He cares about one lone soul
As well as the many nations.

Edward L. Gibson

WHEN
When you are afraid
... look down and see my hand clasping yours.
When you are lonely
... my ears and heart will be there to listen.
When you are confused
... my caring is here to help you find your way.
When you are happy
... my smile will light the way to your celebration.
When you are sad
... lean my way and I will dry your tears.
When you are tired
... my shoulder can help you stand.
When you are unhappy
... I will gladly share a smile.
When you think you can't go on
... I will help you see the light.
When you have lost your faith
... I will give you some of mine.
When you doubt yourself
... I will help you find the good.
And when you lose your heart
... I will give to you my love.

"The Messenger"

Speak not to me...
...of what you see.
From within your soul,
You have the answers....
....to my questions.

On your wings, the Gods
have sent my messages.
And from your heart,
you speak the truth.

My losses are not misguided,
But your visits foretell...
....my sorrow.
When actions follow, my demise,
From your eyes eternity shall follow.

So, when you speak,
My heart opens,
To the wisdom of my maker,
And the rivers of passion
Swell, overunning my path.

Regrets I have...
....but joy fills my heart.
As we share our senses,
My love lives forever....

ADVICE
"Finish every day and be done with it. You have done
what you could; some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day;
you shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a
spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
--Ralph Waldo Emmerson

Do Your Best

Just Do Your Best, and Everything Will Be All Right It's not always easy to
know which path to follow, which decision to make, or what to do. Life is a
series of new horizons, new hopes, new days, and changes that come to you.And
we all need some help with these things from time to time. Remember these
things: Dream it. Do it. And discover how special you are. Be positive, for
your attitude will affect the outcome of many things. Ask for help when you
need it; seek the wisdom the world holds and hold on to it. Make some
progress every single day. Begin. Believe. And become. Give yourself all the
credit you're due; don't shortchange your qualities, your abilities, or any
of the things that are so unique about you. Remember how
precious life can be. Imagine. Invest the time it takes to reach out for
your dreams; it will bring you happiness that no money on earth can buy.
Don't be afraid; no mountain is too big to climb if you do it at your own
pace. What's the best thing to do? That's simple: Do Your Best. And
everything else will fall into place.

STRENGTH

We don't always have to be strong to be strong.Sometimes our strength is
expressed in being vulnerable. Sometimes we need to fall apart to regroup and
stay on track. We all have days when we cannot push any harder, cannot hold
back self-doubt, cannot stop focusing on fear, cannot be strong. There are
days when we cannot focus on being responsible. Occasionally, we don't want
to get out of our pajamas. Sometimes we cry in front of people. We expose our
tiredness, irritability, or anger. Those days are okay. They are
just okay. Part of taking care of ourselves means we give ourselves
permission to "fall apart" when we need to. We do not need to be perpetual
towers of strength. We ARE strong. We have proven that. Our strength will
continue if we allow ourselves the courage to feel scared, weak, and
vulnerable when we need to experience those feelings. Today, help me to know
that is it okay to allow myself to be human. Help me not to feel guilty or
punish myself when I need to "fall apart."

When I Come To Heaven

When I come to Heaven Lord,
What shall I bring,
My Golden Necklace,
and my Diamond Ring?

I have some great Treasures,
of jade, ivory and bone,
And aren't we judged Lord,
by what we Own?

My important Position,
I've climbed up so high,
There just isn't anything,
my money won't buy.

So tell me again Lord,
just what are Your Needs?
I've helped You a lot,
by doing Good Deeds.

"You've got it all Wrong,
My child, My dear,
All that I've wanted,
is having you Near."

"While storing your Treasures,
There's much you forgot,
My Love and Forgiveness
Can never be Bought."

I offer it Freely,
Just Ask and Receive,
But you never listened,
You didn't Believe.

Your Works and Possessions
Are just filthy Rags,
So if you're coming to Heaven,
Unpack your Bags.

Just Come As You Are,
It's You that I Love,
The Price has been Paid,
By the One up Above.

The Heart of A Friend

Oh, the heart of a friend
Is a marvelous place
Where one finds contentment and peace,
Where the grasp of the hand
Shows that you understand
As the blessings of friendship increase.

For the heart of a friend
Never wonders nor doubts,
No matter if years intervene.
The old faith is there,
And none can compare
With the comfort it gives the unseen.

Oh, the heart of a friend
Is a place sweet and rare
To love, to enrich, to enjoy.
Respond, if you will, to its charm
And its thrill, while forgetting
The cares that annoy.

Yes, the heart of a friend
Is the one thing I prize,
As life lengthens and twilight descends.
The last thing I ask,
As I finish my task,
Is to live in the heart of my friend.

Humor

A lady was visiting a church one Sunday. The sermon seemed to go on forever,
and many in the congregation fell asleep.

After the service, to be social, she walked up to a very sleepy looking
gentleman, extended her hand in greeting, and said, "Hello, I'm Gladys Dunn."

And the gentleman replied, " You're not the only one ma'am, I'm glad it's
done too!!!"

A COMMON CHRISTIAN? NOT FOR ME!

I do not choose to be a "Common" Christian.
I cannot separate my faith in Jesus of Nazareth from my everyday life,
conduct and speech.

I cannot justify loving only those who love me, aiding only my friends,
and praying only for fellow Christians.

I have no desire to carry the name of the Son of God to the level of my
own base intentions.

I aspire to be like him, to live on unseen resources by faith, to tap
the unlimited supply of His love through the life of His indwelling
spirit, to emerge from my moral conflicts "more than a conqueror," and
to rise above all earthly standards to completeness of His perfection.

I acknowledge that this is an impossible request but accept the
challenge of its impossibility in the knowledge that its pursuit will
force me to rely on Him.

I desire no little challenges, and abandon all personal "rights" and
"privileges."

I consider it a curse to have a quality of life that is
indistinguishable from unbelieving men and common Christians.

My present failure to fulfill these intentions merely proves that God is
not finished reshaping my raw materials.

Man's $375,000 Search For Answers
About God Ends

PINE CITY, MINNESOTA (CHARISMA) -- A man who sparked international headlines
after offering $375,000 to learn the truth about life after death has
received his answer--for free--and a reprieve.

Clayton Goward, 79, was suffering from colon cancer when he took out a
newspaper advertisement promising his estate to anyone who could
satisfactorily answer his tough questions about God last year. His unusual
appeal made the news, drew more than 50,000 letters from around the world and
several marriage proposals.

But now Goward is at peace with God--and cancer-free--after an unlikely
encounter with Brad Smith from Youngstown, Ohio.

The Assemblies of God minister first learned about Goward's search when
Smith's sister called. She had been weeping and praying for Goward every
night for a month, and believed God had told her that Smith should go and
tell him about the gospel.

Smith thought the whole thing sounded a bit strange but believed he should
drop Goward a line. He decided to forgo listing his credentials "and just
wrote a short note saying the reason I should come was that I knew God's
grace and mercy because I had walked away from Him for 20 years, and when I
was ready, He was right there where I had left him."

Goward picked Smith's letter from the mountain of mail as one of 10
correspondents to be invited to a panel discussion. But Smith declined the
offer, saying he would be happy to talk if the event failed to answer
Goward's questions. "I told him what he needed was heart knowledge, not head
knowledge."

The debate didn't help Goward, who called Smith again. "I told him I didn't
want his money, and I had something to give him." Miraculously a consultancy
appointment came up for the very day the pair had planned to meet in
Minneapolis, near to Goward's home in Pine City, Minn., enabling Smith to
make the trip.

He prepared biblical answers to Goward's questions in advance, but the night
before the meeting he had a dream in which God told him not to argue doctrine
but to simply demonstrate His love. When they met the next day, Goward looked
just as Smith had seen him in his dream, he said.

During their time together, Smith told Goward--who had made a Christian
commitment as a teenager but deserted his faith--about his own years of
backsliding. At Goward's request he helped him select a tombstone for his
grave. The pair also spent time with Goward's brother, who is a Christian.

Smith told Goward about the dream in which God showed him events in the older
man's life that had hurt him. "I said that God had not forsaken him, and that
the Lord wanted to know if he would lower the walls he had put up and let Him
in." The meeting ended in a tearful prayer time in which Goward recommitted
his life to Christ.

"It was amazing," said Smith, who works with Metro Heart Reach and travels as
a business consultant. "It's a testimony to God's love and what He can do to
reach someone." Smith keeps in contact with Goward, who told him recently
that his latest medical exam could find no trace of the cancer.

"God just healed him when we were praying, it appears," Smith said. "I never
prayed for healing, but God just took it from his body. He told me, 'I think
I have another 20 years to live.'"
