Subject: Living by feelings??"

...."Living by feelings??"

> Do you live by feelings? Let's be honest with each other, we usually do! Anyone who says that they are not tempted to behave based on their emotions simply is not human. God is growing us each day and conforming us into the likeness of His Son, but this does take time!
>
> Consider this:
> If Jesus lived out His life for us based purely on His emotions, where would we be? That's a sober question. Jesus clearly took on human nature in every way that we are human, yet without sin. He had tiring days, uneasy moments and experienced pain and rejection. He knew what it was to be in emotional agony. If Jesus had given into His emotions in the Garden of Gethsemane, we may not have salvation! Jesus grappled with the agony He would suffer the same as we would! Yes, He is the God of creation, but that same God Almighty took on our frail human form and knew exactly what it was like to walk in our shoes! Where would we be if our Savior resorted to living by feelings????

> How do you live each day? Do you treat others solely based on your emotions at the moment, or do you treat them as Jesus would? We must deny ourselves and take up our cross and follow His example. This is very difficult!! It is one of the hardest things to do. Our flesh wants to take revenge, harbor unforgiveness, and covet, lust. We have died with Christ and were raised to a new life in Him. Jesus does not expect you to change over night. Take comfort in that. But, what He does desire is for you to try to see that person you are angry with and treat them as Jesus would treat them. When you sin against Jesus and harbor that sin for a while, have you noticed that your sin (when you come to Him and confess it) is not held against you? Jesus doesn't tell you, "Go away! I am harboring anger and resentment toward you for a while!" No! Jesus does not treat us as our sins deserve. His mercy just amazes me everyday. Let's pray that we can live according to what God has asked of us and not purely by our emotions, which change and shift each moment!
>
> PRAYER:
> Lord, Jesus, I sin each day by harboring feelings I shouldn't against others. I live my by sight than by faith. Lord, I am certainly not perfect and nor can I be in my own efforts, but I acknowledge before you the desire I have in my heart to let You work in me to help me to not behave and live life solely based in my emotions that change as the wind! You are a STABLE AND UNCHANGING" Savior, I want to be constant and stable in my treatment of others and live life to it's fullest. I choose today to live by faith and not by sight or feelings. Amen"
