God's kindness is ever around you,
Always ready to impart
Strength to your faltering spirit
Cheer to your lonely heart.

Today, express your thanks
to the LORD for touching your life.
**********
When the cares of my heart are many,
thy comfort cheers my soul.
Read Psalms 94:19
**********
Our Father in heaven, thank You for all the many ways You have touched my
life. Never a day goes by that I am not both strengthened and comforted by
Your Holy Spirit. Help me to always be guided by Your will as I go about my
day to day life; and help me to follow the teachings of Christ, our LORD,
through whom all blessings flow

In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Education commences at the mother's knee, and every word spoken within the
hearing of little children tends towards the formation of character." -Hosea
Ballou

THOUGHTS TO THINK ABOUT:

Friendship is like a bank account. You can't continue to draw on it without
making deposits.

Glass, china, and reputation are easily cracked and never well mended.
Benjamin Franklin

"Some love lasts a lifetime. True love lasts forever." Unknown ~

"Truly loving another means letting go of all expectations. It means full
acceptance, even celebration of another's personhood." ~ Karen Casey ~

"If you are meant to be together forever, you will survive any obstacle or
trouble that comes to you." ~Unknown~

"Take away the trials, take away the pain, take away the sorrow, take away
the emptiness, and you will find true love." ~Unknown~

Reputation is what people think you are. Character is what you are when no
one else is around.
Dr. Steve Farrar

!!!!! God wants to be more than a 911 Call !!!!!

Thoughts of Wisdom

Have you ever wondered why some people have such attitudes? Keep that chip
off your shoulder.

Attitudes are contagious! If you hate the attitudes of your children, just
remember that you are setting the examples for them to live by.

Make sure the example you set is a good one! :)

Good Cheer

O Christian friend, be of good cheer!
For our Savior is always near!
The storm and the waves may be fierce,,
But Christ is with you, never fear!

Again he said be of good cheer!
Though you may have tribulation,
Our Lord has overcome the world-
The King of Kings is his station!

Be of good cheer-far and near.
Christ encouraged Paul in prison.
He would preach the gospel in Rome-
That both Christ died and is risen!

No matter what happens to you
In the struggles you face today.
Just lean on Christ who loves you so,
For he takes care of you always!

So friends let's spread a little cheer
As Christ Jesus would have us do.
Someone needs you to dry a tear,
You can help their faith to renew!
--Edward L. Gibson

Be Glad

Be glad that your life has been full and complete,
Be glad that you've tasted the bitter and sweet.
Be glad that you've walked in sunshine and rain,
Be glad that you've felt both pleasure and pain.
Be glad that you've had such a full, happy life,
Be glad for your joy as well as your strife.
Be glad that you've walked with courage each day,
Be glad you've had strength each step of the way.
Be glad for the comfort that you've found in prayer,
Be glad for God's blessings,
His love, and His care.

The joy of the Lord is my strength!
by Tiffiny

I am not even sure of the scripture that comes from, but it is a phrase that
the Lord has laid on my heart the last couple of days. I got to thinking
about it. When do we need strength? When things are going bad, when we feel
anything but joyful. This shows the power of the Lord, He can turn our
mourning into joy. I know when things are going badly the last thing I want
to do is praise the Lord or put on a happy face, but that is exactly what we
need to do. Through this the Lord changes our hearts, so as we praise and
find our happiness in Him, we find ourselves actually feeling happy, even if
the circumstance is not so great. The "power of positive thinking" is not a
new concept, and not something that someone came up with, God has been
talking about it for a long time =)

ALL SOUPED UP

Eating a soup that is full of vegetable chunks as part of your lunch will not
only keep hunger at bay, but you'll also eat less all day, according to a
study from France.

The study compared hunger among people who ate one of three dishes:
vegetables and water, strained vegetable soup, or soup made with bite-sized
vegetable chunks. The results showed that the participants who ate the soup
with chunks of veggies reported significantly less hunger than the other
participants. The people who ate the heartier soup also consumed 150 fewer
calories at lunch and nearly 100 fewer calories at dinner than the other soup
eaters.

Keeping your weight and body mass index at a desirable level can make you as
much as 6 years younger.

"A SENSITIVE PERSON"

Is a human being who is not only aware of his own self and is able to openly
express it without fear, but is also aware of other people's feelings, and
can relate
to that person even if the feelings differ bringing a more comfortable
harmony to their relationship This is something to strive for because
sensitive human beings can feel and see it.

One song can spark a moment, One flower can wake the dream. One tree can
start a forest, One bird can herald spring. One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul. One star can guide a ship at sea, One word can
frame the goal. One vote can change a nation, One sunbeam lights a room.
One candle wipes out darkness, One laugh will conquer gloom. One step must
start each journey, One word must start each prayer. One hope will raise our
spirits, One touch can show you care. One voice can speak with wisdom, One
heart can know what's true, One life can make the difference, You see, it's
up to you! Author Unknown

WHEN TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME

When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.

And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne,
He said "This is eternity,
And all I've promised you."
Today for life on earth is past,
But here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day's the same way
There's no longing for the past.

But you have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things,
You knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven
And now at last you're free.
So won't you take my hand
And share my life with me?

So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.

Everything We Do

We may not always realize that everything we do
Affects not only our lives but touches others too.
A single happy smile can always brighten up the day
For anyone who happens to be passing by your way.
And a little bit of thoughtfulness that shows someone you care Creates a
ray of sunshine for both of you to share. Yes, every time you offer someone
a helping hand, Every time you show a friend you understand.
Every time you have a kind and gentle word to give,
You help someone to find beauty in this precious life we live. For
happiness brings happiness and loving ways bring love, And giving is the
treasure that contentment is made of. ~author unknown~

!!!! Divine Priorities !!!!
·········· ·········· ··········
Why build the Church cathedrals?
Just pile up grains of sand
if you've a mind to do something
to occupy your hand.
·········· ··········
Why dress up for the service?
Why serve the holy stuff
in gold and silver chalices?
An old tin cup's enough.
·········· ··········
If quality's in rareness,
as silver's hard to find,
how great then must be humble folks
who've cleared doubt from their mind.
·········· ··········
If every brick in every church
were mortared end to end,
that row would never leave the earth,
but we could still pretend.
·········· ··········
If God wants us to dress up,
let's save fine clothes until
the day we give this place up,
then in them lie quite still.
·········· ··········
But if God does want cathedrals,
let's hurry and get more made.
Let's build them fine, but keep in mind
the inner ones, homemade.

REAL FAITH

A grandfather was going by his little granddaughter's room one night when he
saw her kneeling beside her bed, with head bowed and hands folded, repeating
the alphabet.

"What are you doing?" he asked her.

She explained, "I'm saying my prayers, but I couldn't think of just what I
wanted to say. So I'm just saying all the letters of the alphabet, and God
can put them together however He thinks best."

An Apple A Day

In 1945, there was a young boy of 14 in a concentration camp. He was tall,
thin but had a bright smile. Every day, a young girl came by on the other
side of the fence. She noticed the boy and asked him if he spoke Polish,
and he said yes. She said he'd looked hungry, and he said he was. She then
reached in her pocket and gave him her apple. He thanked her and she went on
her way. The next day, she came by again, bringing with her another apple
which she gave him. Each day, she walked by the outside of the fence, hoping
to see him, and when she did, she happily handed him an apple in
exchange for conversation.

One day, he told her not to come by anymore. He told her he was being shipped
to another concentration camp. As he walked away with tears streaming down
his face, he wondered if he'd ever see her again. She was
the only kind soul he'd seen across the fence.

He made it out of the concentration camp, and immigrated to America. In 1957,
his friends had fixed him up on a blind date. He had no idea who the woman
was. He picked her up, and during dinner began talking of Poland and
the concentration camp. She said she was in Poland at that time. She said she
used to talk to a boy and gave him apples daily. He asked if this boy was
tall, skinny and if he had told her that she shouldn't come back because he
was leaving. She said yes.

It was her, the young girl who came by every day to give him apples. After 12
years, after the war and in another country.....they had met again.

What are the odds? He proposed to her on that very night and told her he'd
never again let her go. They are still happily married today.

Now that, my friends, is a love story. Miracles do happen, and there is a
greater force at work in our lives.

Baby Erik and the Old Man

We were the only family with children in the restaurant. I sat Erik in a
high chair and noticed everyone was quietly eating and talking. Suddenly,
Erik squealed with glee and said, Hi there. He pounded his fat baby hands on
the highchair tray. His eyes were wide with excitement and
his mouth was bared in a toothless grin. He wriggled
and giggled with merriment.

I looked around and saw the source of his merriment. It was a man with a
tattered rag of a coat; dirty, greasy and worn. His pants were baggy with a
zipper at half-mast and his toes poked out of would-be shoes. His shirt was
dirty and his hair was uncombed and unwashed.
His whiskers were too short to be called a beard and his nose was so
varicose it looked like a road map. We were too far from him to smell, but I
was sure he smelled.

His hands waved and flapped on loose wrists. Hi there, baby; hi there, big
boy. I see ya, buster, the man said to Erik. My husband and I exchanged
looks, What do we do? Erik continued to laugh and answer, Hi, hi there.

Everyone in the restaurant noticed and looked at us and then at the man. The
old geezer was creating a nuisance with my beautiful baby.

Our meal came and the man began shouting from across the room, Do ya know
patty cake? Do you know peek-a-boo? Hey, look, he knows peek-a-boo.

Nobody thought the old man was cute. He was obviously drunk. My husband and
I were embarrassed. We ate in silence; all except for Erik, who was running
through his repertoire for the admiring skid-row bum, who in turn,
reciprocated with his cute comments.

We finally got through the meal and headed for the door. My husband went to
pay the check and told me to meet him in the parking lot. The old man sat
poised between me and the door. Lord, just let me out of here before he
speaks to me or Erik, I prayed.

As I drew closer to the man, I turned my back trying to sidestep him and
avoid any air he might be breathing. As I did, Erik leaned over my arm,
reaching with both arms in a baby's pick-me-up position.

Before I could stop him, Erik had propelled himself from my arms to the
man's. Suddenly a very old smelly man and a very young baby consummated
their love relationship. Erik in an act of total trust, love, and submission
laid his tiny head upon the man's ragged
shoulder. The man's eyes closed, and I saw tears hover beneath his lashes.
His aged hands full of grime, pain, and hard labor-gently, so gently,
cradled my baby's bottom and stroked his back.

No two beings have ever loved so deeply for so short a time. I stood
awestruck. The old man rocked and cradled Erik in his arms for a moment, and
then his eyes opened and set squarely on mine. He said in a firm commanding
voice, You take care of this baby.

Somehow I managed, I will, from a throat that contained a stone. He pried
Erik from his chest-unwillingly, longingly, as though he were in pain. I
received my baby, and the man said, God bless you, ma'am, you've given me my
Christmas gift.

I said nothing more than a muttered thanks. With Erik in my arms, I ran for
the car. My husband was wondering why I was crying and holding Erik so
tightly, and why I was saying, My God, my God, forgive me.

I had just witnessed Christ's love shown through the innocence of a tiny
child who saw no sin, who made no judgment; a child who saw a soul, and a
mother who saw a suit of clothes. I was a Christian who was blind, holding a
child who was not. I felt it was God asking- Are you willing to share your
son for a moment? -- when He shared His for all eternity.

The ragged old man, unwittingly, had reminded me, To enter the Kingdom of
God, we must become as little children.

BRIDGES

Some bridges are for crossing
some bridges may be burned,
in life there's many decisions
and many lessons to be learned

There's no need to cross a bridge
before the time has come,
it's a waste of time to worry
about a crisis that's yet begun.

Simply play the hand life dealt
with courage and grace,
make the best of what you have
let a smile light your face.

Who knows what's around the bend
it could be a heavy load,
so it's never wise to burn a bridge
on your journey along life's road.

Suppose one day you need to return
but there is no bridge across,
and the creek is deep and dangerous
will the burned bridge be your loss?

Keep your options open
explore the other side,
cross bridges when your ready
let experience be your guide.

Never borrow trouble
try to be very wise,
enjoy the sunshine in your life
and may life's creek never rise.

Love One Another For Love is Of God

Every couple should remember
That what the world calls love
Is not something man invented,
But it comes from God above . . .
And love can be neglected
And oftentimes abused,
Perverted and distorted,
Misguided and misused,
Or it can be developed
By living every day
Near to God, Our Father,
And following in His Way . . .
For God alone can teach you
The meaning of true love,
And he can help establish
The life youre dreaming of
In which you live together
In happiness and peace,
Enjoying married blessings
That day by day increase . . .
For love that is immortal
Has its source in God above,
And the love you give each other
Is founded on His love . . .
And though upon your wedding day
It seems yours and yours alone,
It you but ask, God takes your love
And blends it with His Own.

Helen Steiner Rice

Judge Gently

Pray, don't find fault with the man that limps
Or stumbles along the road.
Unless you have worn the shoes he wears
Or struggled beneath his load.

There may be tacks in his shoes that hurt
Though hidden away from view.
Or the burden he bears placed on your back
Might cause you to stumble too.

Dont sneer at the man who's down today
Unless you have felt the blow
That caused his fall or felt the shame
That only the fallen know.

You may be strong but still the blows
That was his if dealt to you
In the selfsame way, at the selfsame time
Might cause you to stagger too.

Dont be too harsh with the man that sins
Or pelt him with word or stone
Unless you are sure - yea, doubly sure -
That you have no sins of your own.

For you know, perhaps,
If the tempter's voice should whisper as soft to you
As it did to him when he went astray
It might cause you to falter too.
