We're workers from the Domestic Violence Resouce Centre and a part of domestic violence prevention week is to make people aware of the impact ands effects of domestic violence. Domestic violence encompasses physical, emotional, sexual, financial, and spiritual abuse from one partner to another. It is more widespread than many people realize and there are so many lives affected by it, including the numbers of children and young people who live with domestic violence. Fear & isolation are major effects of domestic violence for victims and witnesses of domestic violence.

Domestic Violence Prevention Week helps to bring it out to the wider community rather than keeping domesitc violence in the family. What do you think about the current theme of "Expect Respect" for Domestic Violence Prevention Week?
