I have also been fascinated by this documentary since I first saw it ten years ago. I don't agree with the idea of beauty pageants, especially not in the American sense - dressing four year olds up in revealing and overtly 'sexy' clothes, caking them with make-up and hair spray and encouraging them to parade round like swimwear models. But that's just my opinion.

It did seem like Brooke in particular didn't really want to do it, had a lot of pressure placed on her by her mum (who seemed less than a 'fair sport') and was certainly prone to sulking, which is never very attractive! And that's why I was very interested to see this pic of Brooke here:

Smiling, now a teenager and still involved with pageants. As long as she's doing it for herself and not just to please her mother, then fine. Thought it was interesting to compare this with the sulky-faced Brooke of 10 years ago!
