Coach Cross seems to like the small lineup. They've got a really talented group of big guards/small forwards that can create their own shot from almost anywhere on the floor...the Kansas offense with the ball screens and letting guys drive and shoot or pass is really hard to defend. And on nights when the 3 isn't falling, they are able to drive and get fouled or shoot a high percentage short range shot. Reves isn't scoring a lot, but he is getting a lot of rebounds and blocking shots. And when he gets the ball, he takes it strong to the hoop or gets fouled in the process. Edwards is an amazing rebounder and scores when open as well (plus is an excellent free throw shooter). Ingram was Marquez-like the other night in the first half. Everything was going in. It was a physical game but instead of TSU-SM making a lot of 3s and playing a faster pace, it was us. Our defense was able to make TSU-SM play a halfcourt offense, and they were taking a lot of shots with 5-10 seconds left. And that is not the Bobcats game--they like to play uptempo, shoot lots of 3. The way the Mavs are playing right now, UTA could wind up in the top 4 at tournament time. Nothing fancy offensively and a solid defense, win a lot of games.
