Ann Coulter is pretty rough around the edges and says some things to deliberately be provocative, yet a couple of things she said ring true with me:

"The Confederate battle flag today has nothing to do with race. It stands for a romantic image of a chivalric, honor-based culture... It stands for a proud military heritage shared by both blacks and whites in the South. The reverence for tradition and pride in historical antecedents are precisely what make Southerners, black and white, such stalwart patriots."

It's a shame for a person to wonder what he is supposed to be thinking. Go ahead and work it out on your own. If you don't see a connection between Arlington and Southern history, it probably just means that you are too young to remember why Arlington is "Arlington" and not "Johnson Station," and perhaps you are not aware that we were the Rebels during our most successful years in athletics.
