Duck said something that I hadn't thought of before. There is no way Spaniolo can keep the $2/per student/per semester credit hour without football. That was the agreement. Soccer and golf are still bi-products (sp?).

If we don't get football then I want my $2 dollars back. I do still plan to continue my education.

The only way I would give that up is if, like Duck said, a fundraising goal was set, and a WORLD CLASS basketball arean was built. It doesn't have to be the biggest. But we can't do like we've done in the past and build things half-ass. A doggone engineering marvel that looks ugly as hell.

If a basketball arena is to be built, the it ought to look as interesting as the Ballpark at Arlington. It must be aesthetically pleasing and have a natural draw for fans outside of the student population. Maybe a glass roof with the technology that when it is light outside the windows automatically tint, and when it is night the glass becomes transparent. That's my big idea. And I want long entrances on four sides. So it feels like you're walking into something humungous when you finally reach the seating area.

It must connect downtown Arlington and the UTA campus. It can only be placed somewhere between the two.

Then I will offer up my $2.00. If that came to pass, I would give a lot more too. But if they go for just enough, just good enough, just a facility, then I will give the minimum allowable by law to be considered an actual donation. Hell, maybe I'll give it in pesos just so they have to do the extra counting.

All I can say is - It better be good.
