I've done some research and it appears that many schools offer free email fowarding addresses for alumni. I know for a fact that this is not a hard thing to do because UTA does not have to store any actual email for you. It's just a dummy address that passes the email on to another email address chosen by the user. They actually already have it for the students, faculty, and staff to use. You think we should email Mr. President about this? Like it was mentioned before, it would be an easy way for the school to raise money. I don't think $5 for an email forwarding address and $10 for a regular address is too much to ask for some actual UTA alumni support.
