Subject: About Teachers

Hey guys,

I've seem a lot of complaining about teachers lately on the forum and oh yeah soem teachers can be TERRIBLE... but then there are some really great teachers too.

I'm going to University to be a teacher right now, of course I wanna teach the little kids... about grade 2 I think but in some ways fro my classes and stuff, i can understand why some teachers react the way they do. there are a lot of pressures on teachers. They are forced to teach classes they know nothing about (for example, they studied english, but they are made to teach math) and there is SOOOOOOOOOO much workt aht teachers ahve to do. We have homework (I'm still a student) but teachers have HOMEWORK. Most teachers spend hours each evening on preparing detailed lesson plans for their students.

That said, it doesn't give them a right to take things out on you and some teachers just shouldn't be teachers. Some people just do the jo because they figure they'll get the money... but u've gotta like to teach to be a teacher, right?

Anyway, just a little something to think about... if anybody reads... Maybe ur teacher isn't terrible... they may just ahev a lot of stress right now!

Anne

[> You're right+I'm sure most of my teachers're just horrible cuz they're under lots of stress. But hey, they should also get this fact:WE the pupils and students are under lots of stress too!I mean, we are teenagers!what could be more confusing? And to manage school plus your problems is so hard, they must remember how it was when they were 16! We have to understand them, because we depend on them, but the fact that they don't understand us makes me mad. When I'm in a bad mood+say something rude they gimme a worse mark but when they start shouting at me cuz of no reason they don't get "punished".grml -- Anna, 19:09:14 01/23/03 Thu (vienna01.chello.at/195.34.133.60)

[> You're right Anna, they should not be taking it out on u... thou now I can understand why they do a bit better. However, when I am a teacher and under a lot of pressure, i am going to try my darndest not to take it out on my students. they don't deserve that! -- Anne-a-bell, 20:03:38 01/23/03 Thu (fctnts11c047.nbnet.nb.ca/198.164.251.52)
