>What do you honestly think my motives are?

~~~~~~~~~~~~Nothing sinister - just that it would seem you are trying to avoid it because you fear the truth found there.
>Well, one of the ones I don't like is the over all
>feeling of men being better then woman. I was once
>corrected by someone for speaking harshly around a
>woman and I replied "I speak around a woman as I would
>a man for I see them no different from each other."
>Excuse me for sounding somewhat hypocritical since I
>am a man preaching woman's rights but still. It seems
>from the very beginning with Adam coming before eve
>the Bible has stated that men are better then woman
>but you see I have also heard woman say that "God"
>made woman as an improved version of men. In either
>case I don't like any religious book preaching that
>one sex is better in either case male or female.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Aah, well...it is very much as I thought. The Bible doesn't actually say that men are better than women, or vice-versa. But it does allow certain people to think this way if they want to. Unfortunately, we have had the 'male-superior' spin on it for centuries - but on this subject I am quite adamant. If men can interpret the Bible in this biased fashion, women can do it too. Like I said, the Bible is clear that men and women are equals - but if an arguement can be made for the supreriority of men, then it can just as well be made for women. And all from the Bible! You might be surprised by my take on things.

In claiming the Bible is biased in favour of one gender, people are falling into a trap.

>The principles of a religion are what the people claim
>to be teaching there followers but some times
>individuals teach something somewhat against the
>principles. If they can't break the principle they
>bend it just a little bit like the principle being you
>go to hell unless you are baptized and the teaching is
>you are not really baptized unless that specific
>religion baptizes you.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~These beliefs seem to be prevelant throughout the Christian world - and I agree with you that they are wrong. But that's why I am out to correct them wherever I can. Many people have been turned off of Christianity (just like yourself) for just these sorts of reasons. So I'm starting of a new leg of Christianity to counteract some of these beliefs.
>>So is that an admittance to not really
>>being in a position to judge it? Sounds like it to
>me.
>
>I am saying that I am not going into the New Testament
>without significant knowledge to back up my claims.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~You've got a double negative here. Could you clarify?

>>Do you see how I might want to clear up some
>>misconceptions about Christianity in the same way as
>>you do about the occult?
>
>I do see this and that is very good because it will
>provide for a very nice debate and just maybe together
>we can bring understanding of both religions and offer
>a better coexistence then we have right now. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~Hmmm...maybe.
The way I look at it is this...there are many man-made traditions which are frivolous and useless in both Christianity and the occult. I couldn't deny Christ or the Bible, but maybe we could cut to the bare bones of both religions and see what happens next.
To which of the occultists teachings do you adhere? There are many. For myself, I am very practicle, and if a teaching doesn't work in my life, I usually drop it. That's how I believe God teaches everybody. Do you have a similar philosophy?
