Subject: SO THAT'S WHY!! (totally sc related!)

Yeah, so Melissa and I were talking a while days ago, and I had said that when I went to get my North American copy of the album in town (at Wal-Smart!), they were sold out, and she said that she had went to HMV and THEY were sold out too! So that was kinda weird- not Wal-Smart (they're always sold out of new releases quickly here), but HMV? Strange.

So I went to Ottawa a few days ago, and when I went to HMV, lo and behold, NO Diorama! Not in the new release section, and the only copy in the silverchair section was the imported Aussie version for $37. So I went up to the manager and asked if they had it- "NO." and he gave me a dirty look and walked away! I was like, what the fuck, dude!?

ANYWHO, I was watching MuchNews the next day, and there was a section on how HMV wasn't selling Warner's products because of some wholesale dispute or something, and I just kinda shrugged it off- doesn't concern me, I though.

YEAH... I was wrong. Guess what? Our boys, little to my knowledge, are actually signed, in North America, not just to Atlantic, but to Atlantic/WARNER. HMV's boycotting Diorama. That's why you can't find it there.

Man am I pissed. I mean, if this wasn't happening, there'd be big signs in the store windows advertising it, and displays instore, like there are for Oasis right now. A LOT of people aren't realizing that it's on sale because of this- like, if I wasn't a fan, I probably never would have known it had been released, because I shop for music exclusivly at HMV. I've never been in a Sam The Record Man, or a Music World, or any other place. I was LOYAL, and now I'm pissed. Anyone else pissed?! Who wants to start an HMV boycott?! I'm SO fucking never shopping there again. They're wrecking album sales (and not just for our boys), and lots of people aren't being exposed to good music (it's bad enough that they can't tour- HMV's one of the biggest, if not THE biggest music chain, in Canada).

Sorry if this was long and stupid, but I'm just pissed. Greedy corporate people should be shot.
