Subject: YOU WILL NEVER GUESS WHO I JUST TALKED TO!!! (no, not sc...)

I know this guy. His name is Steve. Steve Gardiner. He works at IKEA in Ottawa with my friend Tia's dad. I've known him for a year and a half. He's a loser, but he's cool, so I like him.

Steve is also a musician. He only works at IKEA in his spare time, to keep his head uninflated. Kind of like Benjamin. He used to be in a band called THERMOclinE. Now he's doing his own albums. And he's a host for Canadian Spotlight, an entertainment jobbiemabob. He's currently in Calgary recording solo album number two.

I was over at Tia's this morning. Her dad called him in Calgary to see when he'd be back. He asked to talk to Tia. When he found out I was there, he asked to talk to me. We talked. He told me production is going well. Then he told me that he the drummer for this album is Bob Moffatt, and the bassist for the album is Clint Moffatt. Y'know, from the Canuck brother-pop band The Moffatts?

Steve hands the phone to someone. He says hi. I say hi. He says 'Who is this?'. I say 'Jenna, who is this?'. He says, 'This is Bob.' I say 'Oh. Hi Bob, how are you?'. He says 'Good, and you?'.

Bob and I talked for a while. He asked what kind of music I liked. I said silverchair. He likes silverchair as well. He thinks Diorama is "killer". I concurred. I told him I just found out that the 'chair were touring. He said 'NO WAY! They need to come to Vancouver!'. I said 'Fuck you, Bob, they need to come to Ottawa!'. I then told him that when he was younger, he kind of had a mullet. He laughed. He's a nice guy.

Then I talked to Clint for a while. I don't remember much of this conversation, as I was REALLY stoned by this point. He asked if I was on drugs. I said yes. He said 'That's good... I plan to be on drugs later today'. Clint is a nice guy, too. A bit of a stoner, too. Which is funny and cool at the same time.

So I kind of met two Moffatts today. And talked to Steve. But he doesn't count, cuz he's a loser. But I still like him because he's hooking me up with free CDs and vinyl and promoshit when he's done recording. And because he's going to call me next time he sees Sam Roberts and/or David Usher so I can talk to them.

Wee-hee! I'd dance if I could do so without endangering my inebriated arse. Haha... yay for Steve. He lets me meet former teenie stars!

J.
