Subject: Actually silverchair related!!

Have you ever had one of those days where you just wish that every day was like it? Yeah, well, today was one of them for me.

I was up at the cottage all day with my whole family, and to start off, it was 35 fucking degrees, which is, like, the warmest it's been for Canada Day in years - that's like 95 F. So it was all gorgeous, and I didn't get sunburned, and I went "fishing" with my cousins Tim and Debbie (really we went out in the boat and drank and then went swimming.... lol), and I spent the rest of the day in a super-comfy lawnchair under the canopy with a few family members and lotsa various alcoholic beverages. And then Deb and I made supper (mmmm.... barbequed corn on the cob and greek salad and all sorts of yummy stuff...), and then I jumped in the lake and swam half way out and floated for an hour, and some guys came by in a boat and gave me a beer (yay!), and then Paul played his guitar and we all sang... mmm...

And THEN, I had the best drive home EVER. I already live in cottage country, so it's only a 35-minute drive from the cottage home, but I took the long way (about an hour)... and there I was, sitting in my van, driving down all these cute little country roads with the windows down and the tunes on... And for those of you who don't live in the country, I really wish you did... the SMELL alone is worth it... some people (mostly city folk) think it's all cow shit and stuff, but all I smelled on the way home tonight was alfalfa and clover... it was just too amazing. Onto the tunes... not a bad song for the whole hour. And it was a 101-minute-rock-block, so no commercials until the last 10 minutes, I guess. Anywho, the last commercial I heard was for Diorama (and it IS being released here tomorrow!!)... and the guy was going on and on about how amazing it was... I was like, "wow... the record label's REALLY pushing this one! This is kinda annoying, actually... "... I believe the last few lines were, "...the melodies of Brian Wilson, and the riffs of Black Sabbath... SWIM to Australia to get it if you have to!" So I was laughing... and THEN he goes, "And that was just what Bono had to say about it!" They quoted BONO! HE was the one who said all that stuff!! I fucking LOVE that man now!! And then they played TGV, and then I was home. YAYness, eh?

I hope everyone's Canada Day was as awesome as mine was!

J.
