Yeah, I've got the whole thing downloaded and have been unable to stop listening to it for the past 24 hours. Army Dub is such a departure for Gomez and yet it also may be the coolest track on the record. Ballad of Nice and Easy is terrific, as is Ping One Down. New lyrics/arrangement of 66 was a welcome surprise -- the song has a gravity and humor now that it lacked before but keeps intact everything good about the original version. Betcha this is the next single.

So you guys catch the last bit of Army Dub? -- little quoted guitar riff from Ice Cream Slowly.../Get Miles Live...

Sound of Sounds-- what a wild song. It's like instant coffee classic rock, and I mean that as a complement, just in the sense that there is no "percolation" time at all -- this tune just sounds unforgettable on its first play. This song is going to be so damn epic live it's not even funny.

Overall In Our Gun stands as the tightest and most upbeat of the Gomez LPs. Unlike LS, with its lengthy takes on California, Devil, Tunrned, this record has a far more economical approach to its musical ideas, never wallowing in one for too long, and always moving on to something radically different. Ian's tracks (Ruff Stuff, Army Dub, 66 Shot Shot) simply rule. But so does the whole album. I can't wait to hear this stuff live.

So, who else here can't wait to hear the b-sides.
