No idea of the number of times, maybe 12 if you figure coming down with an infection twice a year between the ages of five and ten that required a house call.
In the office the shot was administered by the nurse. There the procedure was for the nurse to take my temperature before the doctor came in, so the thermometer was long gone from my bottom by the time a shot was prescribed. If I didn't fight I would be rewarded afterwards with either a comic book or nickel candy from the store on the corner. Small comfort for the enema that I have to endure once we got home.
