During a house call, did a doctor ever take your temperature by a different method than the one that was normally used at the office? If so, was the choice made on the basis of the method being used at home, either by questioning or by observing the type of thermometer by you bed, or was there another reason?

Did a doctor making a house call ever take your temperature by a different method than the one that was being used by your mother or other caregiver? If so, was the reason given?
