The examinations were conducted by a 2 visiting female doctors with the assistance of our school nurse. The exam was conducted separately for the boys and girls. Near the entrance of the wagon there was a small dressing room, where the pupils were undressing to underwear. They were accompanied one by one to the medical room by the class teacher along with their medical records. All the teachers in our school at that time were female except for the director and the physical education teacher. The procedure included a check of vision, ears, nose and throat, measurement of lung volume, blood pressure and heart rhythm. A check of the spine and posture, followed by a visual inspection of the sexual organs for which the underware lowered to the knees. The whole procedure is done in attendance and in front of the class teacher and nurse. I guess the class teacher has been watching the exams of the boys the same way, because she stayed in the wagon when their order came. Being a girl and having a female teacher there, would be different than a boy and his female teacher attending the exam,but were you really glad she was there? How would you have felt if your teacher had been male and was watching if you had a complete exam? I'm really curious. I hope you reply soon. Thank you if you do. The class teacher at that time enjoyed exceptional authority and respect and her decisions were not susceptible to confrontation. The presence of a male teacher in the room during the examinations was a practically impossible option, so I do not even think about commenting it even theoretically. I think it all comes back to young males to accustom them to being examined and looked at and touched while being naked. Accepting a female teacher observing a nude examination of a young boy would be the normal thing, not to be questioned. However, I think most if not all of them would rather had the male gym teacher in attendance given the chose. They would be used to being around him when they were showering and getting dressed. Also I don't think he would have shown as much interest in the exam of the boys genitals as the female teachers reportedly did. Thanks again for your reply, as I enjoy being made aware of something I had totally forgotten, the complete authority of the grade school teacher. When our turn came our teacher, who was about 32, took us down to the exam room which was two empty classes next to each other. One class was where we were ordered to strip in just underpants. The other class was set up as the exam room. We were taken in one by one into the exam room by our teacher where we were told to give her our underpants for the exam to be done, including genital check. It was embarrassing having to stand completely naked with everything on display during the whole exam in front of our female teacher who watched during the whole exam. When one boy was finished she gave him back his underpants to put on, took him back to the changing class and brought in the next boy. As other posters have said there was no questioning a teacher's authority in those days and you had to do what they told you, especially since they had the authority in those days to spank you when necessary. The school was a separate complex from any other school and had its own cafeteria and gymnasium. The gym had a basketball court with an elevated stage behind the basket at one end of the gym. We had P.E. two days out of the week. We had boys and girls showers and dressing areas, with lockable baskets for each students to leave their gym clothes in when they weren't being used. The gym teacher was from the local junior high school which included the seventh and eighth grades. Only one gym teacher showed up for our P.E. classes which was co-ed. Most of the time it was a male P.E. teacher but sometimes a female P.E. teacher showed up. We had only female teachers at our school and when the male P.E. teacher was there a female teacher there also. When the female P.E. teacher was there, she had complete run of the boys shower and dressing room. She handed out towels and hurried us up, and made sure we put our towels in the dirty towel basket. I assume the female teacher did the same thing in the girls shower and dressing room. I don't remember any big fuss being raised about her being in our dressing room. Some of us were embarrassed enough to cover our genitals when we came to her for a towel, but after a few times I felt kind of silly covering my self. She never paid any attention to us, we may as well have been getting our towels from a machine. I remember in the sixth grade a female P.E. teacher was there almost exclusively. The P.E. teachers were never from our school, so we never had to face them after they had seen us naked and getting dressed. It changed only after the first couple of years because of the embarrassment of the boys in 8th grade so that later in 7th grade and 8th grade, the school did not use student nurses but that was before a practice which had certainly lasted for many years. It might be more embarrassing than to have a woman teacher in the room of exam. And like the boys were told to remove all their clothes immediately,even for weigh-in and check of height or blood pressure, they were naked for a rather long time leaving time to senior girls or female teachers to watch them in the nude from feet to bottom and top face and back, genitals and balls and butt exposed. I try to imagine a boy of 13 age being naked with an erection undrer the sight of a senior girl student and a female teacher.It might have been very embarrassing ! I have read other relations where senior or junior girls volonteers were attending the exam of boys students even sometimes same age to take notes on comments from a school nurse or a school doctor.
