But when my mother wielded the rectal thermometer on me she was only using it to try and stimulate a bowel movement (dipped in either soap or glycerin). They seen patients from newborn to 17. And then the 70s and early 80s I can remember they only use glass thermometers I remember The nurse will call you back. Get your weight your height then She will take you into a room tell you to remove your clothes and you could leave your shirt and underwear most of the time your socks on so basically just remove your pants. She would talk to mom And write in the chart and then when you were finished undressing she would take your blood pressure and then tell you to lay on your stomach so that she could take your temperature I remember she would walk to the counter take out the thermometer shake it down walk over lower your underwear Slide the thermometer into Bottom and hold it in place for what seemed like an eternity [ Post a Reply to This Message ]
