I had high temps when sick and and having the doctor come to the house was common back then. I was always nervous about it since I usually got a shot but not always. I was brave enough to ask if I was getting a shot and was glad when the answer was no. After the doctor left is when I usually got an enema. Sometimes my mom would ask if she should give me an enema and the answer was it would not hurt. Being sick for a few days it was only a matter of time until I was given an enema.

The last time the doctor came to the house because I was sick he checked me out & said to grandmother take him upstairs give one or to enemas and he will be fine after the enemas . Well that was not the first enemas I was given but it did make me feel better. The enemas in the 40-50 were a fix-all .
