>I could go on and on about their fairy tail beliefs
>(many of which, few members even know about, it is so
>embarrassing to the church!)..

SD: Oh, I know. We're so stupid. It's a miracle that any of us can function.

You wanna talk about "fairy tail beliefs"?
You believe in the Bible don't ya? How much more "fairy tale" can you get when you've got an ass that can speak? Sounds like Shrek!

>Moronism teaches that God was once a man, and that man
>may become a God (through moronism, of course).

SD: I just love the "moron" pun. I laughed my head off the first 500 times I heard it.

>Mormons are taught that God the Father is now on a
>planet near the star Kolob with his wives having
>spiritual children.

SD: Does that really matter one way or the other? You can’t prove this isn’t true. I can’t prove it is. It’s no more fairy talish than believing that there is a God at all.
It’s not like you know where He is or what He’s doing.

> They believe that Jesus and
>Lucifer (Satan) were once spirit brothers,

SD: Well, that one is true. It’s Biblical, and you don’t know your Bible if you believe otherwise.

> had a big
>ol' war in Heaven and the only reason we worship Jesus
>is because he won.

SD: Also true. Also Biblical.

> Interestingly enough, the spirit
>beings that did not fight valiantly for God come to
>earth as blacks, while those who fought valiantly come
>to earth as whites. Until very recently, blacks could
>not be priests because they were of course "spiritually
>inferior".

SD: Bible scripture is also states that certain people w/ certain ancestry are spiritually inferior. If it really is a sin, then condemn us along with Christ and the Bible.
You can’t say we are guilty and you all are innocent when it comes to offending blacks, but it isn’t so. The facts are that Mormons never hated or mistreated blacks. Hate to tell ya, your Christian brothers are the ones that decided slavery would be a good idea. Wasn’t us! It was you guys who burnt crosses of your Jesus on the lawns of blacks because you all TRULY felt that they deserved this treatment! We “morons” have treated people of color much better than you from the beginning. You have blood on your hands, we have an ignorant word or two. Maybe after you get that beam out of your own eye, you can help us with our mote.

>They also once taught that Mary was not a virgin and
>had sex with Joseph, while Jesus was a polygamist and
>was married to Mary Magdelene, Martha and the other
>Mary.

SD: Your close on this one. We don’t believe Jesus was a polygamist. We do believe that it is highly likely that Mary Magdelene was his wife. Jesus’ mother had more children after him. That belief is Biblical.

[> RE: Beware of the mormonist cult -- MyLadyBanshee, 19:59:54 10/16/05 Sun

Rev. Robbins, are you perhaps related to Brother D Thomas? Or maybe a member of his cult? Maybe just a fan of his???

Rev. Robbins; Moronism teaches that God was once a man, and that man may become a God (through moronism, of course). Mormons are taught that God the Father is now on a planet near the star Kolob with his wives having spiritual children...

Banshee:It's pretty clear that you've been watching a little too much "God Makers". I saw that too when I studied Mormonism. If you are going to state "facts" make sure you know the source...those gems of information (God Makers, Temple of the God Makers, God makers II, SaintsAlive.com , etc) were created mainly by Ed Decker. He was excommunicated from the Mormon Church (for adultery it is said). Why would you trust such a source??His "documentaries" were ridiculous! Full of half truths and twisting of words and lots of editing!! Even other Anti-Mormon Critics, such as the Tanners, publicly reprehended him for many of the statements and claims he has made. Check your facts!

Rev. Robbins; They also once taught that Mary was not a virgin , while Jesus was a polygamist and was married to Mary Magdelene, Martha and the other Mary.

Banshee:This is once again Ed Decker spew…there are no such things taught in the Mormon faith in regards to Mary’s virginity and the idea that Christ was married to Mary Magdalene is something that is speculated by many scholars (not just LDS) and some LDS but not taught as doctrine. The idea that Christ was married is one subject I am well prepared to debate with you should you wish to discuss it more!! ;-)

Rev. Robbins; And did you know all of those pastey, blue-eyed natives of Utah are actually native americans? Yup, it's true. ...(edited Rev. Robbins' recounting of Book of Mormon accounts) God gave to Native Americans their "red skins" in order to visually separate them from those who continued to follow God's commandments and teachings. Why our mormon friends do not still have red skin is a bit of a mystery.

Banshee: What are you talking about?? Do you even know? What is your source for this? Mormons don't claim to be decendants of Lamanites(or Nephites)unless they are Native Americans and even at that...Some Native American Mormons won't make that claim. It is too presumptuous to assume that no other migrations to the New World could have occured outside of the Book Of Mormon accounts.
Accounts of three major migrations from the Old World to the New World are provided in the Book of Mormon. Most of the text consists of records maintained by the Nephite people, which descended from a group that left Jerusalem in 600 B.C. That group, consisting of the family of Lehi and others, split into two rival groups which became known as the Nephites (descended from Nephi) and the Lamanites (descended from Laman, eldest son of Lehi).
Another account tells of the Jeredites, who migrated to America after the division of languages at the Tower of Babel. This civilization was extinct at the time it was recounted in the Book of Mormon.
Another migration to the New World occurred around 588 B.C. when some survivors of the Babylonian invasion of Jerusalem (including Mulek, of royal blood) fled to the New World. The Mulekites had been on their own for several generations when the Nephites joined forces with them.

Rev. Robbins; Jesus even came to America after his resurrection ...

Banshee: Many Native American Tribes (South and North America) have legends of being visited by a “white God” so what is so unbelievable about the possibility that Christ visited other people after His resurrection?

Rev. Robbins; At the age of 14 Smith received a visit from God the Father and Jesus Christ who both told him all churches are wrong, their creeds are an abomination and the professors of those creeds are corrupt.

Banshee: I believe the actual recounting is; I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.” JSH 1:19

I think your argument or the one you think you make is really weak… This (JSH 1:19) sounds to me like exactly what God would say if He wanted to re-establish His Church on earth.

Rev. Robbins; Despite the church's best attempts, absolutely nothing has EVER been dug up to support Joseph Smith's claims...

Banshee: Really? How up to date is your news/research?? Assuming of course you’ve made research and aren’t just spewing outdated statements by other anti-Mormon critics…

The plates of Darius, dated to approximately 600 BC, were discovered in 1938. This is a royal proclamation of the liberation of the Jews made by ‘Darius the Median’ put on plates of pure gold and silver and buried in a stone box. Other finds include A gold-leaf book dated at about 500 AD, found at Hmawza (Old Prome) in 1926; “two shallow, neatly made stone boxes with [sealed] lids, each containing two square plates of gold and silver...’” discovered in 1933; a bronze plaque containing laws was discovered in 1860 near Styria, Greece, dated to the 6th Century BC.

Rev. Robbins; In fact, the one piece we do have which Joseph Smith used was rediscovered in 1967 -- The original papyri, allegedly written by the hand of the Old Testament Prophet Abraham, and used by Joseph Smith to translate the Mormon scripture Book of Abraham. Unfortunately, it has since been shown to be an Egyptian funeral text, called a "Book of Breathings" written some 1500 years after Abraham's day!

Banshee: This is an old debate used by many anti-Mormons. There were many papyrus owned by Joseph Smith and this has been recounted by many eye witnesses.

“Jay Todd describes what happened to the papyri after Joseph's death ("Papyri, Joseph Smith," Encyclopedia of Mormonism, Vol.3):

"After Joseph Smith's death, the Egyptian artifacts were held principally by his mother, and then by Emma Smith after Lucy's death on May 14, 1856. On May 25, 1856, Emma sold four Egyptian mummies with the records with them to Mr. Abel Combs (Improvement Era,Jan. 1968, pp. 12-16). (Pioneers brought one fragment west.) Combs then sold two mummies with some papyri, which were sent to the St. Louis Museum (1856); they ended up in the Chicago Museum (1863), where they apparently burned in 1871. The fate of Combs's two other mummies and papyri is unknown, but some papyri remained, for in 1918 Mrs. Alice Heusser of Brooklyn, a daughter of Combs's housekeeper, approached the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art (MMA) with papyri once owned by Joseph Smith. In 1947 MMA acquired papyri from her widower.
In May 1966 Aziz S. Atiya of the University of Utah saw eleven Heusser fragments at MMA. He informed Church leaders, and on November 27, 1967, the Church acquired the fragments; one of them is Facsimile No. 1."
,

The fragments you are referring to are obviously not the ones translated as the Book of Abraham, which is the logical deduction one would come to if they observed all of the facts/accounts without an obvious “anti-mormon” agenda.

Rev. Robbins; Even the mormons admit Joseph Smith was a little hard to swallow, but they support him 100% as a prophet!

Banshee:Which Mormons would that be??

Rev. Robbins; The Mormon publication, "The Doctrine of Salvation, V.1." on page 188 states that "Mormonism so-called stands or falls on the history of Joseph Smith. For either he was a prophet, with divine calling, name and
empowerment, or he was one of the greatest charlatans the world has ever known."

Banshee: Your point? Are you trying to convinced us to join the LDS Church??

Rev. Robbins; Joseph Smith claimed that before 1891, and before he reached the age of 85, Jesus Christ would return. Well, Joseph Smith did not reach the age of 85 ...

Banshee: Where does it say that Joseph declared “I prophesy that the world will end before 1891!!”Curiously enough, the “prophesy” you are referring to was never a prophesy. And you can only (as far as I am aware) read of this “prophesy” from the journals of men who recorded this as third parties since they were too young to attend or understand the actual sermon given by Joseph Smith.

Rev. Robbins; Simith prophesied in 1832 concerning the American civil war that the British would get involved and the war would extend to all nations.

Banshee: I don’t know much about this particular prophecy but did find this link;

http://www.jefflindsay.com/LDSFAQ/FQ_prophecies.shtml#war

This man is LDS and makes excellent points.

Rev. Robbins; Well, I could go on for a much longer time.... but I do not want to further embarrass our mormon friends here!

Banshee: Right…yeah, OK… Well, I’m sure you’ve just gotten lots of those Mormons shaking in their boots!!LOL

You know, as a Christian (if you do claim to be one), having a personal relationship to Christ is the most important thing. I worry about your flock, if you are indeed a reverend. What kind of Christ-like qualities do you think you are teaching? You are certainly breeding intolerance and ignorance. Most of your statements are outdated and un-researched, moronic if you will...lol It really is pathetic. All you are doing is attacking and spreading lies... I have many Mormon (or LDS as they often prefer) friends and though I am sometimes uncomfortable with some of their teachings, the doctrines or foundation for their beliefs or practices are always solid.

Cheers!

Banshee
