Subject: Possible Receiver Failure

I have a Dish 500 System with a Model 4000 primary receiver.
On an intermittent basis, the TV just goes blank (Gray screen) while the dish 500 system is in operation. When this happens, working the remote power switch does not work at all. The olnly way that I have been able to reactivate operability is to pull the wall plug for 30 seconds or so, then plug it back in and turn the TV power on. Dialog messages come on just as if the system was newly activated.
It works fine this way for a while. Then it arbitrarily shuts off again. This has happened a dozend times already.
What is the problem and how can it be fixed?
