I use this DirecTV receiver with the DirecTV D-VHS VCRs which are the only products designed to record the data from the port. Three D-VHS VCRs, the RCA vr911hf, Hitachi VTDX815A, and the Hughes HDR205 work with that receiver. If you could record it or stream it to another device, it would still require a DirecTV receiver to decode the data. I believe it requires a signal from the VCR to even send the stream.
