Subject: Two irregular faults tape faults

I've had a HMDR 10000 since just before the Olympics.

The picture and sound quality are absolutely beyond belief and simply outstanding (I've a front projector setup and a digital set-top box).

My machine has developed two irregular faults which are driving me nuts!

Intermittently, only with digital tapes (no problem with either regular or S-VHS tapes), when I use the 30 second skip button to bypass commercials, the VCR switches off and shuts down completely and secondly, again intermittently when I rewind, stop the tape and press play, the VCR ejects the tape.

The installer who supplied the machine has observed both faults however when it went for repair, naturally it behaved without fault.

Other than waiting until the faults are ubiquitous and no longer intermittent (I'm going mad in the interim) is there any other solution anybody can suggest?

Is anybody aware of other machines with similar abnormalities?

Darryl
