SLP and EP are different names for the same thing. I believe super long play and extended play. In both instances the tape travels at .667 meters per minute therefore a 240 meter tape will result in 6 hours at EP or SLP speed. With SP or standard play, the tape travels at 2 meters per minute so the result is 2 hours of recording. You might notice that a 6 hour EP tape may actually be 246 meters resulting in a few extra minutes of recording time.
