Subject: PROBLEMS RECORDING D-VHS ON S-VHS TAPE

I have a JVC HMDR10000 and have got some D-VHS tapes and S-VHS tapes. I have found that yes you can record on S-VHS tapes in D-VHS mode but it doesnt work properly. I have been using JVC tapes, I found that I got picture lockups, glitches, sound out of sync. It was even worse in LS3 mode!. I have found that it totally doesnt work if you have recorded analouge SHS or VHS SP/LP on a tape first. Then record over it in D-VHS mode I have had no output fuzz like as if the tape is blank. It would appear to me that you do need to use D-VHS tapes, even though people have told me otherwise. Any comments?
