I picked one of these up. It has a Pioneer DVR-106 OR/XV IDE DVD writer inside. It may have custom firmware for the Sansui, but my guess is any IDE dvd writer may work + or - ?? Would be nice, because my unit won't recognize or format a DVD-R or -R/W, but it plays them if recorded on my Matishitu DVD-r writer.
