Worry is sin!

The Bible says that anything that is not of faith is sin.

If we are in Faith there is no room for a little worry, or a little guilt, or a little fear, or a little lust. Allowing any amount of it will keep us from undefiled fellowship with the Lord!

Thank God for 1 John 1:9!!!!!

if anyone says he is without sin, he is a liar! If we are to walk in faith and achieve victory in any area then we must recognize that God gave us instructions on how to live righteously.

If you think it's ok to sin, then you need to get saved! Sin separates us from God. When we allow it, any of it, in our lives we are breaking fellowship with a Holy God. He cannot tolerate any amount of it!!! why? because that's why He sent His Son!! Sin was done away with when Jesus died on the cross!!! He became the perfect lamb of God, the perfect sacrifice for sin for all people for all time!!! As far as God is concerned there is NO SIN no more! why? because Jesus took away all the sins of the whole world!!

BUT, He said he did not come to do away with the Law, but to fulfill it! If we do not acknowledge our sin and repent we will die in our sin and we will have to answer to God for the things we did that were contrary to the Word! Refusing to acknowledge that God came in the flesh is the biggy, but In Phillipians 4:6 He says, 'be anxious for nothing, but in all things by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving make your requests known to God.' In the proverbs He says that anxiety in the heart causes depression. why? because worry is sin! It is not of Faith! If we stand for a little bit, we are not in Faith! If we are afraid of what is going to happen, what men will do to us, or what we do not have control of, we are not in Faith. The Bible tells us there is only One thing we are to be afraid of and that's God.

And that fear of God is not a trembling, cowering fear, but a reverential fear of what God can do! If we know we belong to Him there is Nothing to fear...But He says my people (the one's He has called) are destroyed for lack of knowledge!

It is the knowledge of the Holy, the wisdom of God that comes through study of the scriptures that brings victory and success in Christ!

Get to know God; for this righteous fear of a Holy God is the beginning of wisdom!

How do we get to know God? By getting into His Word.

The God of the Bible IS the One True GOD. He wants to teach you and lead you into His TRUTH.

If you are suffering from worry today, know that there is a WAY to put it behind you and get FREE. God has a cure for worriers, for smokers, for anything that you want to get free from! Jesus said, Come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest!

and that Rest, the rest of God, is a beautiful thing!

revelation for the day...

Relevation? Tim you talk in circles. Everyone sins then Jesus took all the sin away and then you better watch out don't sin or else. WTF? Why don't you just be thankful for each day, be a nice guy and work hard. You can't go wrong on that path. You must be worried or you wouldn't write this stuff.

Come BC skiing with us an enjoy the world. That what its for.

Adventure?

I looked up the root word, advent, which means the coming or arrival, esp. of something momentous. An adventist is someone who believes that Christ's second coming and the end of the world are near at hand.

When you put this life in perspective with what God has said in His word there is no worldly adventure that compares to the scope of the one that we are on the brink of with Christ's imminent return.

Getting prepared for the ultimate adventure becomes the day to day purpose of a life lived for God. It makes no difference if one is on the ski slopes or cleaning toilets, it is all done with wonderous expectation and of great reward for all those who remain faithful till the end.

This life then is the testing ground for the life to come. We Live by Faith and Walk in Love, no matter what because, as the scriptures say, we know that everything we see, everything we experience in the natural is only temporary, but that which is not seen, all that we are believing in, is eternal. Our salvation, our health, our prosperity, all of it, seen through the eyes of the Spirit filled believer, is complete and whole right NOW, despite what we may be experiencing, or what others may see when they observe us in the natural. Living by Faith means that our confession of faith remains the same regardless of circumstance!

In Deuteronomy chapter 30 the Word says:

"For this commandment which I command you TODAY is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off (vs 11)...But the word is very near you in your mouth and in your heart that you may DO IT (vs14)...See, I have set before you LIFE and GOOD, death and evil, in that I command you TODAY to love the LORD your GOD, to walk in all His Ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgements, that you may live and multiply; and the LORD your GOD WILL BLESS YOU (vs16)."

If we do our part and believe, no matter what...God has to do His part, because He has given His Word and He is not a man that He should lie!

So, believe God TODAY and RECEIVE His cleansing and rebirth by asking Him to come and live inside you forever. Then, everything you do, do it as unto God with all the ferver and enthusiasm of a man or woman living the greatest adventure, a life lived for God!

Hi, Tim,

I find it sometimes tedious to wade through all the biblical excerpts and "if one is to" phrasings to figure out what you're trying to say. So what is the point of your last post? Are you saying that a good Christian should not enjoy life's adventures but instead live life as if today or tomorrow isn't of the same value as the everafter? I say live for BOTH and you'll be rewarded twice.

Jesus was on a mission and I don't believe that he was expecting that each and every Christian was supposed to live their lives as he did. It's certainly noble and generous of those who do, but I don't think that is what Jesus was asking of all Christians. Belief in God, meaningful observance, and making some sacrifices for the good of humanity, but not to devote your whole life to biblical studies and prayer and worship. That's what monks are for.

The rest of Christiandome would do well to cherish and enjoy the earth, its people, and its wonders TODAY. I think that if more people did that, then the world would be a better place.

But what do I know. I doubt.

Sincerely,
Tom

So Tim are your worried now? Equal rights for all and all that must have you looking for Real Estate in some really backward place where the rule of law is governed by old school church thinking. That Veto over ride was the best thing! The people rising up and getting whats right. Jimbo commutes right by my house. I was thinking of posting a sign down there. "No Thanks Jim" for him to see everyday twice.

Thanks for stopping by Tom,

I appreciate your questions and all those who come to this forum questioning. I'm not saying that because I think of myself as some kind of answer man, but because I believe all sincere seekers of the Truth can and will find the answers in the 'answer book.' The Word of God contains the answers to all of life's questions. I consider myself a student of the Way and have made it, the Word of God, the first and last authority in my life. It's the one thing that has not and will not change.

It is for this reason that I don't find it tedious to search the scriptures and to apply them to the day-to-day problems that I face in my quest for, as Jesus said, the Truth that makes one free.

The point of my last post was to respond to bob's commenting on the 'next adventure' by attempting to relay that for me that adventure, which I too once sought after in a natural sense, is actually just as real internally!

It can be just as real and exciting in the mundane tasks of life as it can be in some adrenaline rushing experience. It is actually in the expectation of what has been revealed in scripture that I find the joy to live each moment to the fullest no matter what may be in front of me.

You're right, not all 'believers' have chosen to abide in Christ, who is Truth and to make Him the center of their life, but at the same time the call is upon every believer to make that choice. He is not a respector of persons, His promises and gifts are for everyone, but like anything worthwhile in life, you have to 'want to' receive it in order to get it. Pursuing the Truth that makes you free is no different in that regard. It is no different than anything in life that we see and then go after to attain. You must first want the Word of God, or perhaps come to your point of need for it in order to believe it's all true.

I too was a doubting believer for most of my life. I wasn't trying to make fun of you or the other famous Tom's with my comment, but that is to me the place where believing must start. You can't believe something until you have questioned it thouroughly and then you must make a decision about it? Our lives are all about the choices we make and will make.

That, in essence, is what this forum is all about. Through my study of the scriptures I find God reveals Himself to me. As I get to know Him better, He reveals more truth to me about myself, which in turn makes me free. In effect, as I grow in Him I am released from the bondage of my own way of thinking to begin, as Shane might say, to think and act like God. That is because it is the Word of God that is the basis for every religion that man chooses.

But religion can't save anyone, only the Truth can save you!

I wholeheartedly agree with you about TODAY. It is the only day we will ever have because NOW is the only time we will ever live. God says, Today is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Please come by often. I only delete posts that are derogatory or that I find insulting to God Himself.

Bob is simply a fly on the wall here. I can squash him at any time.
