Subject: Hermit Crabs: Good as a bait?

Some have described the hermit crab as a WONDERFUL and USEFUL bait. Anyone have any experiences with it as a bait?

The hermit crab needs to be removed from its shell before usage. Coral fishes like garoupas and snappers are said to love it as food, just that normally they cannot eat it as it is hiding in the shell.

To remove the hermit crab from its shell, some helpful people have taught me to heat up the end of the shell and the hermit crab will crawl out.

Any more ideas, suggestions or comments on this?
