Subject: Rompin Trip Report

First time to dat place, didn't expect to catch anything much, however I was in for a surprise...

First day (31/03)
Weather : Fine
Sea State : Slightly choppy, few white caps
Pelagics : Landed 5 sails (20-40+kg range), lost numerous others.
Baitfish : Mostly tamban, handful of kembong
Bottom : 01 x sagai abt 1.2kg

Second Day (01/04)
Weather : Fine but windy
Sae State : Very choppy, numerous white caps, waves were high and made travelling slow. 3 of us went green in the gills n nearly succumbed...
Pelagics : Zilch (except for 2 small barracudas)
Baitfish : Baby cudas, baby kembong, baby "TuaBak"
Bottom : 6 parrotfish ranging from 1-2kg, numerous "M.Jacksons", 01 x 9kg cobia n lost 2 others.

All in all, I would say the trip was quite good...
Sailfish and marlin were aplenty, big, and seemed to be in feeding mood from morning all the way to 2-3pm. Bottom wasn't so good, but the parrot fish made up for it...

Rgds
