CSM is okayyyyyy but not really great ... I mean, you can watch CNN or read The Wire and get more out of it. I've just been progressively less impressed with it over the years. (I understand that they lost a lot of their staff a few years ago, which hurts them.)

For Oceania, start and stop with the Sydney Morning Herald. And the Singapore Straits-Times is going to be keeping on top of those things too.

What's FEER?
I didn't see much Latin America on that list; El Nuevo Herald might help -- if you spoke Spanish. Otherwise I don't know what to tell you. (Maybe there's a New York paper that can help you out)

I forgot the Village Voice for DXers. And don't be afraid to check National Review from time to time. Ideology is beneficial when you're trying to put together a speech in seven minutes.

Has anyone been keeping an eye on Abu Sayyaf or the LTTE (Tamil Tigers)? I recommend looking at the recent (Jan) Atlantic Monthly to come up with more info on those...

You may also wanna talk to Adye about the Filipino Insurrection cause Abu Sayyaf are Moslem extremists on Mindanao and -- gasp -- we spent a lot of our time in the Phillippines during TR's time fighting Moslem extremists on Mindanao. (We may go to Mindanao next ...)

And of course don't forget to check CRS every two weeks or so; they don't update all that often over there, but for authoritative stuff -- man, the legislative updates at the back of it will keep you jumping! Why say that the NYT said that Kennedy hates a bill when you can say that Kennedy introduced Amendment 52 on Sept 30 which passed viva voce on Oct 8? On things like PNTR this is more relevant than you might think...

Make sure you clip n' read every Krugman and every Will, and every Friedman (NYT) just because if you throw in a slightly derogatory ref to him every now n' then ppl will think you're real smart. Krugman is "Kroog-man", not Krugh-man". Sebastian Mallaby (WP) used to write for the Economist; his and Michael Kinsley's op-eds for the Post are good. And of course my personal fave at the moment is Ted Rall; you can find his stuff on Yahoo! Op-Ed.
