He enters the citadel, bypassing the accustomed guards with ease, stepping into the Hall. He raps his dagger hilt on the table for attention, looking over the assembled apprentices. "I am Rane," he begins, meeting each set of eyes in turn with his baleful stare before continuing. "I run this citadel. You obey my...instructions...or you die," he said, emphasizing 'instructions' in a manner that would better suggest 'orders'. "You are apprentices. You will earn the rank of Warlock by your skills alone. I play no favorites, and I show no mercy. Those who displease me will be disposed of, either by myself, personally, or perhaps by better means... such as witchbait, or perhaps fresh blood for the creature in the Crypt. Am I clear?" he asks, tone conveying that he was finished speaking, whether or not they understood, and that they better ask no questions.
